I'm talking anything.

I'm sure there would be a couple of tube 350zeds over in the states running 6's by now.

The Zs are VQ series - the drag ones do not have RB motors dropped into them, though there are a couple in the build that I am aware of over there. Aren't Rigoli's building a RWD drag one as well?? There is a RWD tube frame drag car based on an RB30/26 hybrid in NZ at the moment as well.

The fastest would have to be the old HKS S13 with the RB26, did a low 7 if I remember rightly... years ago.

You've been under a rock for a month? HKS got chopped by Reece in the 32 GTR :)

Ummm my rock is particually comfortable... My bad...

There is a 6 second 350z in the states but its not an RB... Its not really a 350z either its basiclly a top door slammer, tubular body with a fibreglass shell over it... It has a massive blower hanging out of the hood which is a dead give away that it is certainlly not an RB. You will generally find a big block V8 under those shells...

I know of a 350z in the states with an rb26 with twin t67's, pro rwd tube car running 7.1 at 189 ish mph

its doesnt run sport compact

there are only 3 cars running in NHRA sport compact and NOPI and all 3 are 2j powered, if you cant run in the 6.4 region, you may aswell not show up

OMG did anyone ask about 2j powered cars or sports compact

Incase you didn't notice this is a skyline forum and at a wild guess we are partial to RB power, speaking for myself and I'd say 2/3 the forum we don't give a stuff about you, your car or 2j/1j power especially when your record holding 1j times aren't as fast as the Rb25 times posted in that other thread

It maybe a little harsh, but 1JZ.747 comments are almost always somehow related to toyota/toyota motors with some bagging of RB motors whether direct or indirect.

I wonder if there are similar people on toyota forums who do the same thing?

you cut me deep, real deep GET SET

PRO RWD is a term used on sport compact racing not conventional forms of drag racing. he used the term PRO RWD. hence why i made the comment there are only 3 cars running in PRO RWD and none of them are RB powered, so old mate gtr88 may have mistaken his info.

at this point in time there is one street tired RB25 in this country faster than me and thats ryan quinn at 10.12 and 136 mph, so pound for pound me with no motor work aint bad at 10.17 and 137 mph at 3500 pounds.

i come on this forum and post in the drag racing forum as there are plenty of like minded guys, ie, twoogle, 2rismo, buster, who we all race against each other and have great friendships.

i couldn't give 2/3rds of a dirty brown shit whether you give a stuff or not.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
