BP ultimate is no problem When I made the jump into the 400RWHP I went with injectors. I put in 680cc HKS but it would probabley be a cheaper option to go with a similar size nismo as they will fit the original rail. It sounds like your combo is similar to mine. Originbal build RB26 , -5's, Power FC, dumps front pipe 3inch exhaust, cam gears, apexi filters, aftermarket FMIC. If it original build you may wish to consider how hard versus how long you want this thing to last. I made 450rwhp but backed it of to 430rwhp for the sake of longevity. Each application of the technology will produce different results on different platforms, add to that different tuners and its really a per application judgement on how far to go

sard 700s are the go. they are cheap, and bolt straight in. they also work well with the PFC, ie, no problems with lag timing etc.

Dont you have to sort out some "o" rings with those Richard???

I actually have a set of SARD 850cc's that I had lying around the house...

Do you think these are overkill for the state that the GTR is in at the moment?

I had big plans for my previous GTST which is why I have them and not sure what to do with them now..

Sard 700's are direct fit , you can use your old O rings ( a little tight but they will fit ), of course I would always use new ones , unless I changed them recently.

Sard 850's ( the twin spray ) are not direct fit , you will need different plugs .

Why would you want 850's or even 700's with stock turbos ? the 440's should be just fine with stock turbos .

I had stockk 440's on a 33 GTR that had Group A N1 turbos ( 1.2 bar boost) Ah and don't tell me she didn't haveany power , she was good for 11.7 1/4 mile and a trap speed of 121 mph!

all this talk about power with these turbos...

which of the turbos (t517z, GT-SS, 2860-7, 2860-5) would be the most responsive??

what exactily are each individual power ratings

GT-SS - 300ps or 320ps ??

2860-7 - 290ps or 310ps ??

im not chasing big power figures want as little lag as possible but still decent power upgrade from standard

prob dont want more than 300awkw

sorry for all the questions

RellikZephyr

i was just reading the Garrett website site

and it says that the 2860R-7 is quote... "OEM on Nissan RB26DETT used in Skyline R34 GT RN-1"

now i heard/knew nissan used garrett for their factory turbos

and is that saying that the 34 GTR N1 turbo and the 2860R-7 is one and the same?

EDIT: Anyone with 34 N1 Turbos, where is 1 Bar boost available on stock engine? 3500? 4000?

Thanks

If they arent "exactly" the same, then they are close enough :ninja:

Someone posts the specs in another thread of them all... i cant remember if they were 100% the, but yeah, if they werent, it wouldnt make much diff

GT-SS/-7s/R34N1's all make around the same power, all with similar response

and how is that response??

judging around 1 Bar of boost

where would that be available in the rev range??

just trying to get an idea

Thanks

RellikZephyr

That will depend on the engine that you have ( spec, condition , etc...) and the load. On my low K series II 34 in 4th gear i see max boost 91.1 bar) at 3800 rpm not much later than stockers.

I have GTSS turbos though.

  • 3 weeks later...
I removed all the broken teeth from my box and have been driving -around with no 3rd. Looks like I have an OS box lined up.

I have recieved my FC-Datalogic so been doing some tunning. No idea on power levels, however boost response is insane and dataloging indicates faster accel between 1st and second with 1.4bar.

anymore results with the turbos mate..

You using an Excedy Solid Centred Twin? That seems to be a regular common link with busted R32/R33 gearboxes....

I've f*ked two gtr gearboxes using an exedy twin plate clutch

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
