thanks Dane, still lot's of little bit's to do but i'm happy for now, it stays cool while being thrashed and goes/turns/stops which are the main things...

i see you've entered sandown, i'm guessing you only had a minor hiccup, I bet that's a massive relief...

hey Marlin, I haven't broken an aerocatch but talking to the guy who sold them to me he thought the standard pins were piss weak alloy... >_<

thanks beer baron, "scotsman" has the same colour on a set of wheels, I saw them and fell in love too, he painted them for me, super special "chris" colour...

unfortunately a tyre guy scraped both the front wheels while putting on some new ku36 rubber recently, fun times :S

It's the oil pump that's the issue man, so I'm going to get another one. They haven't checked the bearing and bores out yet though, so here's hoping it all checks out... pray for me! So at least we know what it is, but I'm not quite out of the woods yet, but should know next week.

Looks good Troy. Are they GT-R guards? You have a paint obsession mate!

Such a nice Silvia. Years ago i preferred the 180SX but these days i like the Silvia better.

cheers, it will be good to see your car back in action soon too, it's exciting to watch it screaming past

Yeah I just meant you have the same aero catches...... I broke one. Badly worded, my bad

>_<

your 180 has been such an epic, fingers and toes are crossed mate, dean needs someone keeping him honest! >_<

Eek, hope luck is with you re engine woes.

Nah, far from it. I hate paint and dont really care for flashy paint jobs. Just want my car to look neat, being my only car and my daily i need it to look neat and tidy so nt to get pulled over and reamed for the all the "stuff" i have on it. So more a survival thing. Std guards, after all i am still a lowly GTSt owner who is too cheap to spring for the cost of labour to throw on the bigger guards >_<

I so badly want to get out there with the new setup and exhaust, i know the EPA / Noise guy at Sandown wont bother me. I am pretty sure the car will now be loud enough that he will have to cover his ears, close his eyes as he grimaces in pain and nose starts to bleed. So too preocupied to bother wth reading the dB meter

Hahaha that's the spirit Troy! Maybe when we're dragging side by side down the stright we can break the DB meter?

Thanks for the well wishes guys, I'm hoping she'll be ok too. The engine builders seem relatively confident, and it was primed with a fair bit of oil pre-startup so we'll see I guess... very draining though, I just want to drive again! Plus Dean is getting out of hand, can't keep letting him get away like this >_<

Hangs picture of the S14/15 on Dart Board >_<

So to go on...

New titanium exhaust

6Boost manifold

TD06-25G

New ARC 100mm thk cooler

Plazmaman Inlet Plenum

New Tein RS rear shocks with new cradle

Secret squirrel rear diff

New wider TE37s

Finally putting back on a set of F40s after way too much d1cking around

New fuel system

New cooling system

...and depending on power it is making perhaps some cams.

Most importantly though, my new R31 rocker covers complete with RB20DET-R badge

someone give brisby a car for dutton. he is a top steerer and kind of handy with sabotage etc too. he has the dough and is heaps talented at driving, having pioneered the reach around gear shit technique. you could all do much worse that Roy for a co-driving team-mate. he will get the result you need or crash trying. don't be shy people. hell you can take my silvia troy if you byo tyres and just tidy up one or two things. seriously. the whole car is only worth 1 weeks pay mate so no fear of smashing it either.

That's a nice list of goodies Troy, should be a bit of a weapon once they're on.

The titianium exhaust sounds rather sexy... mmmmmmm

Once I learn how to steer then we should have some nice competition going on here in Vic!

Well, my car is undergoing surgery, reason why i am fishing for other ppls cars for Dutton.

LOL, i have no taste of artistic flair so hope the stuff i am doing to it is going to look good

34 GTT rear wing??

ZOMG there is a GTR bit on your car!!!! get rid of it lol

I know, i hate it. I have had to start cutting my arms with razor blades to cope with my self loathing. But i dont want to throw a big wing on it and have a head fark of working out whether it was any good, helping/hurting etc. A late model R34 wing has to be a decent enough thing given the effort Nissan put into it and the fact it was unchanged on the Z-Tune. So hoping it gives me a tad stability and doesnt hurt straight line speed.

Also hoping some of the pace of the car it came off spreads to mine :D

The Zed looks mint now...Stealth Bomber!

The Slot Car Before and after.

8 years in development and improving. Does an average of 10 track days a year, and keeps going strong.

I want to have this car's babies. extremely predictable and well handling despite plenty of power. would go even better witha front diff to get all the power down.

BTW good to see you car too SABBAi. I love the variety of cars on here (despite the rash of filthy 2l cars lately)

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
