i saw this on the news this morning. it is very sad considering its so close to christmas as well which makes it worse. RIP, i hate hearing stuff like this but the real sad thing is it wont be the last.

My cousin and i were driving up the ring road for a photoshoot last night when we seen on the other side of the road a whole heap of police cars, ambulances and fire trucks - I was thinking it had to have been something big as the freeway was blocked and traffic was being diverted to Williamstown Road. Was hoping the people involved were OK :P

Sorry to hear it was someone you knew DNGRUS - my condolences go out to their famililies.

I feel more sorry for the other 3 in the car, however i suppose the responsability should really be shared amongst the lot for each putting themselves in that situation... obviously we dont know all the details and regardless of the way it happened it is a waste of human life which is something that should never be taken for granted.

Feel sorry for all of the friends and family of all of those deceased.

I have been in a car where I've told the driver to stop acting like a d**khead and they haven't.. Think they are all tough doing high speeds in and out of traffic. Unfortunately the driver is also my best mate, I've come so close to slapping him down for some of the stupid shit he's done. Really angers me the disregard he had for my wishes and fear for my own personal safety too. It's f***ed up.

Very sad news... when I saw it, I was really shocked... all of them so young - weeks to go before Christmas - just makes you think how lives can be easily destroyed... I have lost many friends through street racing... RIP....

Any details of what happened? Was it a S15 that raced against the Commodore that carried these for men?

Simple don't get in the car net time..

Look my condolences go out to the families but lets be honest according to all reports the were exceeding the speed limits by around 50km/h no matter what happens at those speeds there's always a danger and anyone doing that with 4 other people in the car doesnt have any regard for human life.. Im not saying I havent sped before or anything like that but people need to learn...

also i'm worried about other people whom in interviews stated the guy was a responsible driver who never sped and didnt do anything stupid.. then I ask why when you look at the photos of the crashed car are there stockies on the rear and rims on the front.. lets be honest theres only one reason anyone puts stockies on a car (except for a flat) and it's burnouts no responsible driver would ever be driving around with stockies on the rear. (and yes thats speculation but we all know its probably the truth)

People need to learn and police need to crack down on those driving with different size tyres, or different types of tyres on the car this only encourages foolish behaviour amongst friends and groups of people and should be a practice that is cracked down on as it is not only dangerous (bald tyres, uneven size rims etc) is encourages other kinds of hoon behaviour...

As stated above my condolences to the family but hopefully scores of people will learn from such a tragedy although I think not.. for most young p plate drivers as we all once were. once your in a car your invincible.

But mate don't come on here and start stating why there was stock wheels on the back... first of all could of been a rim on the other side... so don't try and turn this into a baggin out thing why it happened... just leave it for another thread... personally i thought your comment was uncalled for and completely disrespectful... I think you have no right in saying that even if he was speeding that he had no regard for his mates lives....

EDIT: I have had stockies on the back of my car before.... not to do burnouts but because my rims had bald tyres on them and couldn't get new tyres for a couple of days... and i have had mates drive around on stockies cause they have damaged rims in pot holes and stuff... so don't say no reasonable driver would drive around with stock tyres on the back

theres two photos in the paper of the car both sides had stockies on...ok so your telling me you personally would be doing 160km/h down a main road with four friends in the car?? When you're in control of a vehicle your in control of your passangers lives and thats the way i see it, sorry if anyone has taken offense.

and as to bagging about how it happened how its happened is people were doing excessive speeds thats it.. as to how and why we can only speculate but either way its not something that needs to be done on the road..

hopefully everyone learns from it speeding doesnt just effect you it effects those around you..

also you can expect today or tomorrow that a driver of a black vx commodore will be charged and have his vehicle confiscated in relation to this matter (and thats from a fairly reputable source)..

do you know that having two different size rims on your car is illegal and unroadworthy (although hardly policed), do you know that having more than 2 different treads tyre types on you vehicle is illegal (although hardly policed)...?? Put fopur stockies on your car and make it legal.

oh and just so you know before everyone says oh but what if you get a flat and use your spare (spares are usually the same size) and otherwise I can vouch for the fact that my parent car has had a canary slapped on it because it had 15" rims and a 14" spare.

mate you still can't sit there and say he had no regard for peoples lives... as i said ur entitled to your opinion and have your say thats cool but seriously in thread that is started by a friend of the driver and other people in here know the passengers i think it's absolutely uncalled for and disrepectful.... yeah i don't do 160km/h down main roads with mates in the car but that's me, i have mates who do it with me and others in the car and at no time would i ever ever say to them that they have no regard for my life....

and as far as i know the 160km/h hasn't been confirmed yet... and also when someone gets charged i'll believe it

fair enough and ill agree with that but judging from those skids marks and that damage the person involved wasnt doing 100km/h thats for sure...my personal view is and that all it is that when im in charge of car Im not just responsible for my own life but responsible for the people in my car and other users of the road...and thats it..

as for what i've said start reading some editorials in the paper on this what i've wrote is just a fraction of what people have been saying (.eg the deserved it, racist comments etc. etc..) this an open forum and just like people expressing their condelences I'd like to express how I feel and would hope other people would too..

as i've said over and over my heart goes out to these families...but at the end of the day the choices you make effect both you and those around you...and this just highlights the perceptions of young drivers.

^^^^ RIP and condolences to the families as they are the real victims, i agree with you and the others but accidents happen.... always will always have... its called darwinism... sad fact but true. you can set 10kph speed limits and people will still die... no point going on about.

at the end of the day we are all responisble for our own actions and the sooner the individuals and families accept blame for such terrible accidents instead of blaming contributing factors (the REAL ststistics speak a whole different truth) the better off the rest of us will be.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
