they can be pressed out pretty easily

then either tap some threads or press some fittings in the covers and you can use earls stuff

ive got a set here that have had the stock fittings pressed out and earls 90 degs pressed in

I have not got much to do to the engine now so i might give it a go and pull them out.

could get a nice Red R Racing one made to set it off if you like :(

Whos to say im not getting that sticker made??? :)

I thought as much. Looks like ill have to make do with the stock ones.

Anyway here is a new pic i took with the coil pack in bright silver:

post-32255-1214773843_thumb.jpg Looks like a Tomei "DERIVE" engine lol

Looks awesome in the sunlight.

Im getting a sticker made to replace the 2500 24valve logo.

Looks great mate!

Roughly a month. There was a set back with a top piston ring. If it went all smoothly probably 3 weeks.

The car is getting picked up tomorrow morning to get all of the finishing touches done and will be running hopefully on Friday afternoon :D

awesome build up with great pics, your workshop got that motor together in sweet time! what was the actual time from dropping off to picking up the built motor? a quick look at the post dates says somewhere about one month? nice!

any updates?

yeah we like to have them on a one month turn-around. Although we are quick we are also very thorough. All tolerances are checked and double checked and clearances less than spot-on are not acceptable. I actually sent Dave's crank back to be re-done on one of the journals as it wasn't to my standards.

Got 3 tough RB26 builds on at the moment for other forum members, two from interstate...one a big 2.8 stoker...nice.

some people like to remain anon.

cant wait to get my one Paul, so excited! I havent sent the bearing yet, sorry havent had time to visit the post office.

Dave, im pretty sure I have a 4inch K&N at home if you cant find a retailer who stocks them.. PM me if you need it

Too late Johno, i picked up a HPI 4inch pod from JustJap this morning.

Car is at the exhaust shop, was talked into fitting a 4inch body Metal Cat,suppose to flow nearly 1000CFM of air!

Going to the tuners tomorrow afternoon, but i wont have the car back until mid next week. Adam is going to spend alot of time on the tune so it is perfect, cold start the lot.

Why get one workshop to build it then another to tune it? Any particular reason?

I refuse to touch Haltech's...Why? not because they are inferior...its because i dont know them....unlike other workshops who don't know what they are doing and learn on the fly with other peoples hard earned cash. Adam is the Haltech expert and im more than comfortable Dave taking it to him. He'll do a top job....can't wait to see some results.

You're not the only one. Quite keen to see how it goes down the 1/4, assuming that will happen?

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
