Nissans from 1:30 onwards :D

First run we had ice on the plenum and the HKS bellmouth. Then removed the bellmouth and ice for comparison, as you can see made alot of difference. So now a water to air intercooler is on the cards.

Thanks to Mamoon for the clip!

I have heard and seen mixed results with WM.

But i have seen 2 cars with water to air coolers on the dyno and the results are amazing.

Another car i saw on the weekend had a box made around one of the cooler pipes and you drop ice or dry ice through a pipe next to the washer bottle. This car has made close to 600awkw.

do u have any pics of this setup?

i couldn't imagine the ice would last long, how often would u need to top it up on a hot day (or is it just for dyno runs)?

No pics of it, normal ice and water is used for dyno and drag. Dry ice is used for the street as it lasts longer.

the ice box would be for dyno runs/drags, if its just plain water to air it could be used all the time, what intercooler do you have at the moment dave? 100mm thick core?

Its a china spec 76mm one which ill be throwing in the bin very soon.

still got white wheels eh...?

not long til you're dating dudes now.

So last night wasnt a date?

Lol

Dave those vids of your car are pornographic! The way it sounds and just keeps climbing in power and revs is unreal. Love it!

It was too loud for the camera hence all the distortion, in the flesh it sounds like an F1 car :P

Its a china spec 76mm one which ill be throwing in the bin very soon.

Thats probably whats holding it back, stick a 100mm core in there. Everyone i have spoken to has said you need a thick intercooler if you want to push 400+ from the 35R

I wouldn't be blaming the cooler too much... It seems to be doing the job well it's just not big enough for the application!

I had a china spec 100mm with GTR style end tanks and it was freezing cold outlet temps running similar power at 24psi of a T04Z

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
