Silver R33 GTR at Shell Petrol Station across the road from The Pines Shopping centre.

Wouldn't it happen to have TE37 Superlaps or similar?

Cos saw that last Sunday on Blackburn Rd when I went to get kebabs.

Yeah I've seen that one too at Blacky Maccas. Very nice and clean if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Couldn't really tell what wheels it had, but from memory, it had a stock looking exhaust and some kinda small toy hanging off the rear bumper.

Saw Odium turning into Wantirna maccas a few minutes ago

Surprised you don't see me more often, and that I don't see him more often :/

Think you noticed me once when I had Alvin's yellow car.

Well, I'm not exactly sure what your car looks like Mr. Birds, Odium's is easy to spot because of the license plate, I've seen him around a fair bit. Nobody will spot me now since I'm under cover in a Honda.

How is the Honda treating you? Come past and show me sometime!

Mine is a silver 33 with D1Rs. When you see it, you'll know.

Yeah it's good, I did a service on it yesterday. It's also got the original exhaust and wheels back on so it doesn't look or sound as stupid as when I first got it. Where would I show you? Do you work nearby? I've been on SAU for quite a while now and I've only been to one meet.. good effort.

I don't recall seeing a car that matches your description, but I will certainly keep an eye out, where abouts do you live?

What wheels did it have on before? Not those stupid chrome wheels everyone likes to put on?

Do you know Terrara Rd?

It had GMax 'Defiant' 18x7.5s, they aren't the worst looking wheels I've ever seen but they aren't my cup of tea, particularly in the size department.

Yeah I know Terrara Rd, my friend lives on Melissa Grove off Terrara not far from the Vermont South shops.

Yeah I love that NASCAR bend around Terrara haha. I'm about 20 seconds from there :)

I thought I was the only one who can't help but put my foot down on that bend, I'll probably be at the petrol station up there tonight filling up.

its hard to spot you adam, since you hardly drive your car.

Adam? Is that Birds' name? Didn't know he had one.

Haha no it's quite normal to assume you're at Talladega dome on that corner. Did you know it before the roundabout at Hanover was put in? Bliss...

    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
