jaime got your pm. btw where are the pics ppl?

Cool Basti

Yeah I didn't bring the camera, but a few other ppl were taking pics.

Yea, because everyone wants a piece of your 34 :D

Mmmm... R34NRG's R34. All the goodies on that car LOL!

yea was hoping Andru would get out of his car and let me sit inside by myself so i could strip the interior and take out the MFD :D quality parts on that car...

we were following an r33 to the kebabs but turned out it was heading home...

fear not, we got the kebab

anyone get pics?

hahaha thanks guys, i honestly was shocked at how much everyone loved my car. put the biggest smile on my face driving out.

i was following someone aswell and they ended up going home i was pissed i wanted a kabab baddddd.

i didnt hear the intructions to the food places cuz i was in my car showing R-Spec the mfd in my car.

i thought i heard someone yell "everyone i am the president"

but not sure lol

yeah, pics people, i rocked up at AP round 9:30, everyone had gone, drove to the other end (Queens st end) and randomly found a bunch of lines looking lost, had a quick chat, knew where they were talking about (kebab place in wells st) but thought that was strange, as i was pretty sure it was shut at that time. Whoever's nav told them to go OVER kings way to st kilda rd has a screwed up Nav.

Anyways, found the guys again and told them the only other place i could think of was 'Wise Guys Pizza' so we cruised there, found everyone else and yeah.. that's it.

Only reason i knew all the spots was because i work just up the road, about 200m from Wise Guys (above the BMW car yard).

I also saw a silver V35 Coupe probably also lost on park st

Pics people! Andru, sounds like your car was getting a lot of attention, was speaking to Dion (trix34 or something) who was raving bout it.

Don't think i'll be competing with your car anymore! :D

hahaha so not true buddy, just make sure your frontbar and bonnet are secure, cuz i just might take em. if your not lookn.

woulda been nice to see a bit more 34s though, infact more cars in general would of been better, pretty piss weak representation from the west. from wat i could see. us easters owned it up. although i was talkn non stop the whole time, and before i knew it we we off for imaginary kababs on kings way....pfft

i didnt take any pics at all but i did see alot of flashes from ppl taking pics of my car.

i did see R-specs 34, and another black one with decals down the door. but no one was standing next to it so i didnt no who it was.

and for future purposes please dont ask me how much ive spent on the car, it just makes me cry LOL

Ended up being nearly 3 hours late but got to the Pizza joint, Was driving DUSH's R33. It was too cold, rainy and everything else to come up and do anything so we left. PS : Dezz lower your car it looks like its got a Lift kit.

Forty-odd cars is more than enough, and considering the amount of people that signed up to the club makes it a huge success, despite if you think the westie numbers are weak in your opinion. I'd love to see you organise something better, especially considering the fact that it looked like it was going to rain all night.

How narrow-minded and arrogant you make out is astounding.

Hey man we really wanted to see you Toyota Carolla, me and LEANBAC were telling few new members how it looked like a fully done up old skool late 70's GTR. HAHAHA!!!

Ah yeah Lauz_90 was saying you were pumping, I don't know, someones guards. I thought you were all pump your guards Adam.

Man how many sets of rims does Abu want?

He has probley got a Showroom full of wheels now. LOL!

hahaha My guards need a few extra hours on the guards to stop it rubbing completely, but it doesn't matter. I'll just limit my passenger numbers. ;) More work on the car soon though, next time you see it, there should be something a little more interesting under the bonnet. :D

Abu's only got 2 sets of wheels, the stockies and the wheels he's currently running. We continued work on the guards today, with a proper tool this time. hahah

If I get my car back together after pulling it apart in a few weeks, I'll be at the next meet.

Yeas it was.

We didnt do laps - maybe the other skyline that followed us did - we left the area straight away I was driving the White R33 with black wheels.

Hey everyone,

Really nice to finally meet you all and definitely looking forward to the next cruise :D

I managed to grab a few pics but I was fairly distracted lol

I'm shattered that I didn't get to meet the owner of this car but I can safely say I was EXTREMELY impressed

See you all soon,

easy there best friend.

just assumed there would be more thats all, especially from the west.

ive organised meets before, i know the effort that needs to be put in, and i know the weather takes a big part in it.

my point is if us easties decided to drive up, why not the wests. much longer drive for us.

all in all it was a good meet, just thought it could of been better, weather n all

Dezz lower your car it looks like its got a Lift kit.

Yeah, no worries.. :ermm:

Also good to see the nissansilvia boys so chatty and willing to mingle :)

Thanks to everyone that attended, and welcome to all the new members that signed up on the night. Ash and Kaz will have your access sorted in the next few days and then you'll be able to see the members section, and take advantage of all the discounts on offer.

The turnout was a little larger than I expected, but not by much as I was tipping 30 odd cars anyway. Big hats off to all of those that behaved, including each and every single car at the west meet.

See you all at the next one :)

Andru, perhaps you'd like to take into account the amount of members on here that are from the east, compared to the west, and how many of those have attended east meets in the past, so know plenty of people already and took this as another chance to meet up with them.

It wasn't a competition or a fight, so stop acting like a child.

Thanks to Dezz & AP for organising the meet. Also to Bec who signed me up at the east meet :)

I thought it was a really good turnout & doesn't matter how many people turn up from each side as long as everyone has fun meeting eachother...

Standing at the pizza place at the end of the night gave us a few laughs - the delivery guy on the scooter especially!!

Bit of a wet night but rain never hurt anyone :ermm:

That's the GTR I was talking about.... I was like 2 cars down and he popped his bonnet and I heard like 8 people just go "Pwoahhhh" lol.

Obviously I'm colour blind, I thought it was brown/gold :)

    • Surely somebody has one in VIC. Have you asked at any shops?  Is this the yearly inspection or did you get a canary?
    • This is where I share pain with you, @Duncan. The move to change so many cooling system pieces to plastic is a killer! Plastic end tanks and a few plastic hose flanges on my car's fail after so little time.  Curious about the need for a bigger rad, is that just for long sessions in the summer or because the car generally needs more cooling?
    • So, that is it! It is a pretty expensive process with the ATF costing 50-100 per 5 litres, and a mechanic will probably charge plenty because they don't want to do it. Still, considering how dirty my fluid was at 120,000klm I think it would be worth doing more like every 80,000 to keep the trans happy, they are very expensive to replace. The job is not that hard if you have the specialist tools so you can save a bit of money and do it yourself!
    • OK, onto filling. So I don't really have any pics, but will describe the process as best I can. The USDM workshop manual also covers it from TM-285 onwards. First, make sure the drain plug (17mm) is snug. Not too tight yet because it is coming off again. Note it does have a copper washer that you could replace or anneal (heat up with a blow torch) to seal nicely. Remove the fill plug, which has an inhex (I think it was 6mm but didn't check). Then, screw in the fill fitting, making sure it has a suitable o-ring (mine came without but I think it is meant to be supplied). It is important that you only screw it in hand tight. I didn't get a good pic of it, but the fill plug leads to a tube about 70mm long inside the transmission. This sets the factory level for fluid in the trans (above the join line for the pan!) and will take about 3l to fill. You then need to connect your fluid pump to the fitting via a hose, and pump in whatever amount of fluid you removed (maybe 3 litres, in my case 7 litres). If you put in more than 3l, it will spill out when you remove the fitting, so do quickly and with a drain pan underneath. Once you have pumped in the required amount of clean ATF, you start the engine and run it for 3 minutes to let the fluid circulate. Don't run it longer and if possible check the fluid temp is under 40oC (Ecutek shows Auto Trans Fluid temp now, or you could use an infrared temp gun on the bottom of the pan). The manual stresses the bit about fluid temperature because it expands when hot an might result in an underfil. So from here, the factory manual says to do the "spill and fill" again, and I did. That is, put an oil pan under the drain plug and undo it with a 17mm spanner, then watch your expensive fluid fall back out again, you should get about 3 litres.  Then, put the drain plug back in, pump 3 litres back in through the fill plug with the fitting and pump, disconnect the fill fitting and replace the fill plug, start the car and run for another 3 minutes (making sure the temp is still under 40oC). The manual then asks for a 3rd "spill and fill" just like above. I also did that and so had put 13l in by now.  This time they want you to keep the engine running and run the transmission through R and D (I hope the wheels are still off the ground!) for a while, and allow the trans temp to get to 40oC, then engine off. Finally, back under the car and undo the fill plug to let the overfill drain out; it will stop running when fluid is at the top of the levelling tube. According to the factory, that is job done! Post that, I reconnected the fill fitting and pumped in an extra 0.5l. AMS says 1.5l overfill is safe, but I started with less to see how it goes, I will add another 1.0 litres later if I'm still not happy with the hot shifts.
    • OK, so regardless of whether you did Step 1 - Spill Step 2 - Trans pan removal Step 3 - TCM removal we are on to the clean and refill. First, have a good look at the oil pan. While you might see dirty oil and some carbony build up (I did), what you don't want to see is any metal particles on the magnets, or sparkles in the oil (thankfully not). Give it all a good clean, particularly the magnets, and put the new gasket on if you have one (or, just cross your fingers) Replacement of the Valve body (if you removed it) is the "reverse of assembly". Thread the electrical socket back up through the trans case, hold the valve body up and put in the bolts you removed, with the correct lengths in the correct locations Torque for the bolts in 8Nm only so I hope you have that torque wrench handy (it feels really loose). Plug the output speed sensor back in and clip the wiring into the 2 clips, replace the spring clip on the TCM socket and plug it back into the car loom. For the pan, the workshop manual states the following order: Again, the torque is 8Nm only.
