Sounds cool, but to what end really?

The appeal of Tarmac rally is the fact that it's not on a circuit with safe run off and barriers and ready access to fire marshals.

Good thing anyway, but I'm not sure fans will really appreciate what they are seeing. Surely some will, but yeah got my old man pants on today. Get off my lawn.

EDIT: Just thinking, I'm hoping you guys are going to have some sort of staging area or something to field questions and talk Tarmac Rally/Show off the cars etc, that would be sweet.

ABSOLUTELY PUMPED for it!!!!!!

I am here fist pumping like a champ typing one handed!

I'm not pleased about not saucing it up Friday though! :P

Dan, it's more about an opportunity to thank some sponsors and let them "experience" the car. Given tarmac rally cars are approved for passengers we can go full tilt. No, it's not a rally stage. No, it's not even timed. But, we get to drive the full F1 course as fast as we want, and show passengers (whether that be sponsor/spouse/mate/whatever) what the cars can do. Add to that the cars being displayed all weekend, AND a 4 day pass to the Brabham corporate stand, I reckon it's well wicked!

I'll be messing with the F1 game's settings in hope of replicating the Ute's behaviour.

100 metre mark you say... PFFFFT, look out champ, coz at that rate I'll be diving up the inside. Keep an eye out for me!

Helmet ? What are they...

Given the conditions we weren't allowed a full tilt, was behind a pace car! Bugger!!

Could only imagine what it would be like at full tilt though. Great surface, super wide in most places, just going to be insane for you guys.

Weather permitting ofcourse!

Hope you've been well...

Wanted to do it after I found out its not just a single session on one of the days, and includes sinking piss & food in a Brabham corner corporate box! Alas I have a close mates bucks on the Saturday - thought of doing Thurs and Friday only entered my mind but can't justify the kesh at the moment.

What is the deal with taking footage - has Bernie issued you guys a statement saying you can't take / use footage / he owns it or the like?

Can completely understand not being able to go hard in those conditions.... looks appalling!

Hope you're well too John.

    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
    • You think its the AFM? I know its a common issues on R32s. I find it coincidental how this issue raised right after cleaning the fuel system. As everything except the fuel system was fine before. I tried running it with the IACV unplugged but did not notice a difference and still stalled. However, the RPM gauge is not in the cluster right now, so I will need to connect the laptop again and use Nistune to check the RPM. I will check this weekend.
