Not sure if anyone else has posted this news yet, but I have got official news from inside Nissan head office....

There will be only 2 dealerships inside Victoria that will be authorised GTR dealers....

They are....

WERRIBEE NISSAN and FERNTREE GULLY NISSAN!!!

No other dealerships will stock or be able to sell the vehicle except for these 2 dealerships!

ETA March 2009....

I'd thought they would try to get the car near the city somewhere..... same with ferntree

I agree with you there - Benz, Aston, Porche all have City or close dealers, but Werribee?

Fentree Gully i could have picked, seeing as it's Nissan Vic's unofficial flagship location.

Yeah i knew someone who worked here...seemed to be the only dealer I knew of who could bring in JDM stuff for the S15 (or maybe i just didn't look hard enough :D ) ...if they end up being one of two dealerships to stock the GTR then it might be a place for me to start lookin for hard to find nismo apparel!

was talking to a salesman at our nissan dealer here in tamworth after they all had a good look at my v35 he said do you want me to ring you when the r35 turns up to that i said are you getting one in and he yeah in october this year to that i said sorry dont have 160k and he said no 150k plus on roads but i think hes all bullshit

Funny that you Vic blokes already think these are obscure dealerships. Why did Dissan do this? Or maybe it's incorrect information (don't cry, show me proof). It would be an unwise business move not to have at least ONE city dealer that retails the R35.

he said no 150k plus on roads but i think hes all bullshit

That's just a given. Don't think about it.

$150K plus on-roads IS $160K...

Yeah Werribee is definately an obsure location. Its also a decently sized dealership as I assume FTG is also but you wouldnt think that would matter as I doubt they are going to hold 50 cars at a time like a Tiida......or are they?

Maybe Nissan themselves decided on a max of two dealers in VIC so only two workshops had to be trained/setup to service the cars and maybe had the dealerships bid on the rights to sell them?

Who gives a shit anyways as I cant afford it and for those lucky enough who can I'm sure an extra 30 minutes travel isnt going to change there mind in buying one.

FT Gully Nissan and Werribee Nissan are the two leading Nissan dealerships in Victoria...new car sales wise, thats why they have been chosen to sell the GTR.

I work at one of these dealerships and believe me its not incorrect information....

the city dealership was not chosen because of its showroom size, the amount of new cars they sell (not many compared to Werribee and FT Gully) and there is no parking space for customers, which there will be alot of all keen to come down and check out the car.

One dealership on either side of the city was the idea, and thats what they have gone with!

Blitz has ze connections, sounds like good info to me...

that pretty much means it's go time for imports yah?? hahahahhah, Nissan OZ.... you bunch of retarded f*ck wits....

i reckon that explains the recent Nissan OZ letter saying "we'll be scrutinising all workshops importing GTR's", 1) scare tactics as they have no auth to scrutinise jack 2) they know they're going to miss the 18 month window and hence they're being poopy pants and saying "well yeah!.......... we've got our eye on you... so.... yeah, yeah... think about it!"

hahahaha, ANOTHER wasted opportunity...

who in werribee has 160k to splash on a car??? must be a mistake.. as if theyd put it out there... woulda been better in the city or close by... "/

LOL! Just brand it the new HSV / FPV.

any workshop that receives the 'letter' from Nissan SHOULD definitely send a legally informed reply particularly given they are attempting to set you up for an indemnity costs order by the 'reserve the right to rely on this letter'.

That needs to be formally replied to.

If anyone does get one of those letter, feel free to PM and I can draft up a reply to go out on your company letterhead.

Yes I am qualified!

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
