Well, finally some good news....

After a lengthy call to Dotars this morning they finally advised me that my Private Import application was approved dnd that paperwork was sent out yesterday. It only took them 3 months !

Until I see the paperwork in the flesh I'll be holding off celebrating but hopefully the car will be on its way very soon.

I'm bouncing back to Japan next week for around a month so hopefully I'll be loading her up myself and get a quick blast or 2 on the expressway but at least theres light at the end of the tunnel, finally.

Congrats Marcus, great news

Well hopefully after its complied I can finally see how that carbon shaft goes.

By the sounds of everyone else I'd say 50/50 chance of no vibration.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well been a couple of fun weeks with the car and alls bloody good.

Car has a moderate tune now with power sitting around the 440kw mark with a quit scramble hit of boost giving around an extra 15kw but the torque band is the most impressive part as it has a very wide torque band.

Car is an animal now.

Finally yesterday car was put on transport truck and is starting its journey to land of OZ.

Look forward to seeing it in my garage hopefully sometime in August.

Loved reading this build.

hanging for more updates.

me too :P vids of it on track asap!

Thanks fellas..

I was at HKS today picking up a few odds and end that were left over from the build.

The guys gave me a picture disk CD of the build from their perspective so I'll start loading them up over the next week or so.

Theres a couple of hundred pics to sort through

Got another week in Japan then back to OZ so I'll load them up as I get some spare time.

Had confirmation that the car will be leaving Japan on the 30th June so not too long to wait until she's on the road in Oz.

Hopefully can get it the track sometime in late August.

Still got other parts to go on which include

Nismo 400R front bar

Nismo front lip

Carbon centre grill

Ganador Mirrors

ACPT Carbon fibre tailshaft (rated 2000hp)

Auto Gallery Yokohama SS690 Gearbox

nice build loving the number of pics (:

Cheers mate :(

The HKS took all these recent ones I've uploaded and they like to take alot of pics of the same shot

good to see that u stuck with the stock manifolds - they are a proven item once match ported!

Hey Marko I was looking at going the Tomei Expreme manifolds but my mate at HKS jumped up and down and said to stick with standards match ported and polished.

He had done alot of their top cars including their Drag 33 and said no reason whatsoever to go with anything else and why change something that works!

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
