What a great start to the new years.

Defected this morning for:

- EBC

- Non Standard Air Filter (covered)

Classed as "Major Defect".

First Officer pulled me over, me driving normally not making a noise, requested license and jump out then said to pop my bonnet. He looked around found the boost solenoid but wasnt too sure, saw the airbox told me to take it off so he could see the air filter but the pod filter/airbox is fitted down tightly cant remove without tools. He calls in for a second Officer, guess who - Officer Neil! He came and looked into the engine bay straight away saw the boost solenoid and said theres a controller somewhere in the cabin - that was it. He said the air filter is fine aslong as its mounted securely but the first Officer defected it for being non standard air filter and being covered.

Thats F@$KED UP!!! if i were you i would remove the EBC and take it to a local cop shop (not the Port Adelaide one) and tell them about the air filter and they may take the defect off for you, and try to do it today if you can, its worth a try.

Sorry to hear VU your car is seriously clean, goes to show it doesn't matter what condish your car is in only needs to be an import. What size boost solenoid are you running Dual Stage Blitz? Officer Neil strikes again what a legend :(

GReddy Profec B Spec II

Officer Neil was the nice one out of the two. The other guy was a good cop too but I think he'd already made up his mind to defect as soon as he saw the Skyline drive past to be calling in Officer Neil to confirm what to defect.

I know of a bloke running a Gizzmo IBC EBC and the actuator is quite compact and easy to put in an appropriate area out of the way. I will keep my thoughts on officers pulling people over for no good reason to myself me thinks.

I was going fishing around 6am this morn. on grand junction. see a cop come out of hanson. i turn of down a street. I come back out and notice this officer has done a U turn.

He saw me from 34534 kms away.

Anyway he was on the other side of the road this time and just looked at me and kept going.

has anyone ever been thru regency with braided oil and water lines? any solutions to fix them? please get back to me.

get rid of them? lol

was thinking u could probs wrap the lines in some insulation so they didnt stick out, that or some high temp tape etc.

that SUCKS vu, seriously. maybe since the cops dont defect dogshit looking 1980's cars with black smoke popping out at random times we should follow the UK wank factor of applying the "rat-look" to our cars...

the defect deal in this town is out of hand, does anyone know if its public record to find out what % of cars are jap imports by model etc?

and which officer and cop shop office is creating the regency que up ?

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
