I hear the passion with the 355 but personally, they are so old and even the 360 - especially interior wise - shows its age. If I could, the 430 would be a great consideration but its almost twice the price. Regardless of how great the 355 is, why buy a car that makes you feel and look back dated... even if a Ferrari.

I can tell you havent driven one have you?

A 355? No I have not nor am I interested at all.

Here is how these cars and perhaps some might be able to understand when it relates to a Nissan.

F430 - 35 GTR

F360 - R34 GTR - Still pretty good and desirable for those unable to get the latest version

F355 - R33 GTR - Big ugly looking to most and definitely compared to the more modern ones. Some like em but only because they own one...

360 dated? :D

Im sorry but the R35 GTR is an ugly monstrosity compared to the 360 modena.

Infallable logic there :D

I like the part where you pass judgement on a car and refuse to drive it :)

I refuse to drive a car because I pass judgement on it. And isnt that how almost everyone decide preference :turned:

Again, a matter of opinion and I would agree but note I said dated, not ugly

Buy the 360, in 10 years the GTR will be worth sweet f.uck all and you could buy one for 1/6th of the retail price. The Ferrari will always hold its value compared to the GTR.

Hahahaha :turned:

:) LOL mabe you refuse to drive it because you can't have the opportunity to drive it, not the fact that you have passed judgement on it, thats the most stupid thing ive heard all day lol. If you don't drive something, how can you pass judgement lo

I dunno about that, test drives exist for a reason...it's not exactly a Hyundai Getz where you can have a pretty good idea of whether you would enjoy the drive or not (even though you should probably still test drive it before deciding this). I think the term I'm looking for is "don't judge a book by its cover" :)

I've found some of the most amazing cars to drive don't look any part the piece from the outside. And saying this, a Ferrari always looks the part no matter how dated it is.

LOL. What were Ferrari thinking. Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier ftw. Toyota reliability and a timeless design because they haven't changed it since the 80's.

Opinions... every one has one.

True, very true, but some people just write so much stupid shit that you have to tell them to shut the FK up, one persons opinion IS more valuable than an idiots opinion lol

Wrong. Read up on f355 vs 360 on 6speedonline.com forums, ferrarichat.com forums and even the official ferrari.com forums, and all the owners that used to own F355s that have moved up to 360s will tell you, the 360 is the most reliable ferrari ever. Read up on F355s and valve guides and headers.

I'll ask my brother in law again...but this comment apparently comes DIRECTLY from one of the most well known & experienced Ferrari mechanics in Australia. My initial response & thoughts were the same, that the 360 being newer would make it better, the recommendation however was to go a 355 over a 360 for reasons that it is a less troublesome vehicle. Like I said I'll ask again...

lol there are a motza of ex Japanese and hong kong prestige cars entering Oz roads lol, this has been happening for the last 15 years on quite a large scale.

Also its much easier to get a priv import 360 to aust than it is to get an R35 here, also you are nearly completely rooted by nissan when you need to buy R35 parts for it and Nissan Aust refuses to sell you the parts to fix it because it wasn't an Aus delivered gtr, they are very strict on import Gtr parts.... Ferrari doesn't care, they see it as part of their family no matter where it comes from

I worked in the automotive retail for 7 years and only once came across an imported Euro (a Merc back in 1994) it came in for a valuation, ...the boss could not find a buyer (wholesale), completely off limits, no one wanted to touch it. I also doubt they are sold in the very large number you suggest and from what I have seen the imports from Honkers are dirt cheap anyway- cheap price to lure a buyer over a local.

Personally I would have more faith in trying to off load a grey import r35 GT-R at a reasonable price over a Ferrari, ESPECIALLY a 360 which are available in large numbers as locally delivered cars.

If it is something rare, that's completely different (ie. a 365 GTB/4 Daytona) . The blackish/blue Lamborghini Countach that appeared on the Shannons advert a couple of years back was brought over from England. The owner told me that he could not find a Countach for sale in Oz & no-one would part with theirs, so he located the pristine example from London...but if it was a Gallardo and it came from the UK or Honkers it would want to be DIRT CHEAP, hence my assertion that grey import Euro's not only have poor resale they also have poor chance at finding a new owner once landed.

If you could buy this 360 for some insanely cheap price in Hong Kong (say $90K) and you want to keep it, then I have no problem with that...but this isn't the situation or the question

Buy the 360, in 10 years the GTR will be worth sweet f.uck all and you could buy one for 1/6th of the retail price. The Ferrari will always hold its value compared to the GTR.

............provided you can find a buyer for a Hong Kong special Ferrari. In theory a 360 should hold its value in the long term (although this will largely be eaten away by exhorbitant repair costs and servicing)...but the reality is people will want to be DULY COMPENSATED for buying a car which is readily available locally, with FSH and a previous owner you can chat to.

The grey import mentality that exists amongts Japanese car enthusiasts is just not part of the prestige Euro buyer culture...

Everyone should listen to the bloke who hasn't driven the F355 and other people who have read about them on the internet: It's basically a dated, unreliable shit box. LOL.

First of all you dont make sense. You are implying that someone has to drive a particular vehicle to be convinced of how good it is even if they are not interested in it in the first place? What kind of theory is that?

You see a car, like or dont like it, then decide to have it in your list of potentials before a test drive. This is the same reason I have no interest in test driving a VL Walkinshaw although some are convinced it is better than a GTR for example.

Everyone has opinions and I, along with a few others here, have never denied claims of the F355 being better to be incorrect. Simply put, I would never test drive one because to me, it is old. And this is only because someone here presented me with the question.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
