wanzi
I think that's a good idea. I wouldn't invite commodore clubs tho otherwise some idiot is guaranteed to do a burnout at the protest I think its time car club's unite over this and stage a big protest. If anyone is seriously interested let me know and i'll think about drawing something up and contacting other clubs around the place. Someone that has some good political/lagal skills, would be a bonus With Police abusing their power in some instances, there will be wrongful impoundment cases and all sorts of things. It's time car enthusiasts made our feelings loud and clear about ridiculous laws. How the FK can they sell your car, if someone else is hooning in it. What a load of shit. alr33x
typical knee jerk reaction.. sad that 5 ppl died but if they hadnt the law wouldnt be getting changed. They should focus on far more concerning issues ie violence in the CBD, drugs etc. The major problem is any police officer can say your hooning .. how do you prove you werent? not to mention he was drunk.. i think the media has a lot to answer for everyone is a hoon these days someone reverses into a police car headline screams HOON RAMS POLICE CAR. id like to see someone hooning in reverse in mcdonalds car park really.. that would be impressive, instead it was just some idiot who doesnt know how to drive hardly a hoon.. i dont want to be associated with these retards really need to tighten up on the use of the word hoon Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305026-state-government-says-it-will-match-part-of-opposition-plan-to-crush-hoons-cars-after-third-offence/page/2/#findComment-5049576 Share on other sites

They will say Ambulance. I will say, I have gotten my partner to the hospital, driving legally, faster than an ambulance has gotten to our house.(Tested both.) Advantage of an Ambulance is you don't wait around at the hospital IIRC, but either way in my partners case she goes straight to ICU, so no waiting. Just keep in mind, even if you can get there around the same time as an Ambulance would get to you, the Paramedics treat you the moment you get there, compared to a potential wait at the hospital. Factor in if its a relative so you are emotional and driving, you won't be 100%, just call 000. sneakey pete
Don't fret guys, its after the 3rd offence, so if you accidently hoon then there's still hope for you to unhoon LOL Yeah, its all fair and fine assuming that you never ever get booked for something you didn't do etc. Which is not the case. alr33x
also have they over looked the part that if the car is secured to a finance company dont they technically "own" the vehicle and i doubt they would be too please with it being crushed, it would then lead to them basically not giving people finance to buy cars as they could find themselves also exposed.. and its not just imports any car is capable of breaking the "hoon" laws..? if the government would just give ppl somewhere to go they would have less to worry about Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305026-state-government-says-it-will-match-part-of-opposition-plan-to-crush-hoons-cars-after-third-offence/page/2/#findComment-5049600 Share on other sites

Anyway, part of the plan I heard about on 9 news was that sale of the car would pay off any outstanding finance, the balance to TAC, etc. Frankly, don't agree with getting your finance paid out - that should be part of the penalty - that you have the finance, but don't have the car. Might add a bit of incentive not to be a d!ckhead. There was another story about a P-plater (Commodore owner) done for 5 years for doing a burnout. Frankly a bit harsh, but he didn't show up for his court case (well, his mum forgot to remind him - WTF! can't the kid keep a diary or something?) He's appealing. l_uk3y
I personally don't mind this law. As long as authority's treat it with the respect this degree of decision making deserves. There are people out there who really shouldn't be on the roads. The amount of people on the news lately is testament to that. Cars should only be crushed if they will have no hope of passing a roadworthy without major work (worth more as scrap). The money made from selling these confiscated cars should be put towards real things that will help prevent this. I.e Venues for people too use their performance vehicles in the correct setting. Real road toll fixes. Oh and drink driving offenses should definitely count in the same bracket and should have matching "confiscation" rules. I think Politicians forget sometimes that car enthusiasts are voters as well. Not only are we voters, but we are people who spend our money. All this money supports Australia businesses and families and creates jobs. I alone would have spent no less then 5k on parts alone last year. Last I remember the government were giving us money begging us to spend it. I just hope that authorities observe our rights and are realistic. Treat those that flaunt these rules showing hideous behavior should absolutely get everything thrown that them. If someone ACCIDENTALLY slips the wheels in the wet trying to take off up a hill or their LSD kicks in around the corner. Then this is really a non event and doesn't have any attributing factors whatsoever to a person trying to get a thrill out of risk taking on our roads. Final plea to the government and policing groups. Please to god get all those drink driving whilst hooning whilst snortin drugs whilst already lost their license 2 years ago but continue driving and causing trouble even though they have been caught 4 times since losing their license off our roads. Every single time it is these people that cause ALL these story's to pop up and effect the rest of us. My 2c. paulr33
i would think logical and common sense would prevail here if you are caught and fined 3 times for driving with hoon style behaviour then it seems reasonable that you loose your car i mean, come on, 3rd time doing the same thing it seems fair and resonable i mean if you got tagged twice for hoon driving dont you think it's about time you kinda slow down, relax, and drive normal i agree the term hoon needs to be policed correctly, but if i got tagged hoon driving 3 times and my car got auctioned or crushed, it would seem reasonable, i mean ive had 3 warnings? whats all the fuss and disagreeance for ? 180Roman
i give up on the government how many people have died from a burnout, a doughnut or some skids in an industrial area? i bet the number wouldn't even make 1% of people who died cause of drink driving the media needs to go and f*k themselves, always put a hoon spin on a totally unrelated story Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305026-state-government-says-it-will-match-part-of-opposition-plan-to-crush-hoons-cars-after-third-offence/page/2/#findComment-5049739 Share on other sites

Birds
The Liberals with their see through "me too"ism and blatant attempts at vote grabbing are absolutely pathetic, and I'd hope that people are smart enough to see through some of the ridiculous statements made by them recently. Come on man, the article says the government will adopt part of the OPPOSITION's (i.e. Liberal party) plan, not the other way around. Besides, all politicians and parties do "me too" stuff but in this particular case it's Labour doing "me too" in defence of a Liberal attack. That said, where the Liberal government is pissing me off at the moment is in going to even worse extremes with their plan. i would think logical and common sense would prevail hereif you are caught and fined 3 times for driving with hoon style behaviour then it seems reasonable that you loose your car i mean, come on, 3rd time doing the same thing it seems fair and resonable i mean if you got tagged twice for hoon driving dont you think it's about time you kinda slow down, relax, and drive normal i agree the term hoon needs to be policed correctly, but if i got tagged hoon driving 3 times and my car got auctioned or crushed, it would seem reasonable, i mean ive had 3 warnings? whats all the fuss and disagreeance for ? My fuss and disagreeance is that this is hardly an effective solution. It's an enormous waste of money, time and resources. Safe to say this plan exists to please Herald Sun readers. Ash, let's get it happening mate. I'm no lawyer but I know my politics and I should probably have been one The most important thing is to maintain the image of the car enthusiast and separate ourselves from the hoons. Because the danger in fighting "hoon laws" is that you can get conveniently slotted into that category just by fighting it.
