yeh driveways are fkn bullshit i got the roll gutters around here and i still scrape on my driveway but meh.. it'll survive my paint work is shit anyway

blags why u gettin rid of ur wheels!

this is why I'm going anti fibreglass and reverting everything back to urethane and metal, for the flex when dumped :)

ah ok cool :)

I kinda want less spokes anyways, after having rims with shit loads of spokes i really cbf with them want something easy to clean.

Also like the look of say 5-6 spokes love te37 and GT-C's prob my 2 favorite, work meisters are also nice. Any other suggestions? You guys seem to know your shit about rims..

Have been thinking about what you guys said the other day.

Current plan:

- Sell ZX for as close to $6k as I can get

- Buy daily for $3k

- Sell Supra for as close to $16k as I can get

- Buy MR2 in Victoria. Modify it until I'm happy. No matter how long it takes or how much it costs

Does that sound like the way to go?

Might have to drop the price on the ZX again... It won't even sell for $6k. The market is f*cked now. I just want it gone though.

Finally you are thinking :)

sounds like the best revision of your plan so far. sensible at least, you've got a car you're passionate about and a decent car to drive around in.

word of advice, spend more on a newer daily that's prone to less faults/breakdowns. esp if you plan to build your MR2 slowly.

True that.

Cheers man :( That's a good list. I'll have a look on carsales now.

Do you know any dealers that would let me trade in my ZX? Would be so much easier than trying to sell to all these boyracers with no money.

Dealers will give you f**k all for the 300ZX.

Best sell it in a private sale and when you put your add up to sell it, just say "No time wasters / boyracers / shit kickers".

Simple.

You tried going up your driveway on an angle / sideways?

just drove down to have a look at those 19s at import monster.. fell in love with the GT-C's at first sight.. where else can i compare prices for them?

Ppl would say Jesse streeter, but I have confidence in Aaron.

Local Aussie business and I'd support him.

You get to see the wheels there and then / inspect them for as along as you want.

Just browse the For Sale section, if you want to compare.

yeah will do mate :)

who / what is Jesse streeter?

on another note, will 19 x 9.5" +11 and 19 x 9.5" +21 sit good on a 33 GTR? different offset is ok as long as tyre size is the same yeh?

oh and jezza i would go a honda civic as a daily :( just make it black and green neons, get a motec system exhaust etc..

Jesse Streeter is a guy who lives in Japan and works out of his basement sending goods at good prices, from what I have been told...

I'd stick to 18" wheels with the R33 GTR.

But that is just me tho.

Cheaper on tyres.

With the R34 GTR I still would stick to 18" but you can get away with 19"...

yeah 10" +18 sits flush on an R33 GTSt that's lowered. 10.5 +15 is nice on an R33 GTR

Also NO. It's not OK as long as the tyres are the same. the same overall diameter of the wheel (tyre + rim) must be the same front and back with about 1% tolerance.

    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
    • Hmm not really, I'd say its race car life or modified car life when you make 3 or 4 times the power Nissan designed the car for lol.
    • I'll let others with more breakage chime in, but I can't think of anyone who had a problem with the standard centre plate before they had a problem with the standard gears - the plate generally just gets replaced for safety when the gearset is upgraded. As for the gearsets, its not like they are OK at 600Nm and break at 601. Their longevity is a combination of how much torque you are making and how gentle you are on shifts (or not).
