yeah peak power is only one part of the picture

if you look at my car its peak is pretty ordinary, 191 rwkw was its max

but the diff gears, lateral acceleration, suspension etc give it the quick accleration

able to beat most cars on "private roads" and was ever so slightly pulling away from a 315kw r8 ute on another "private road"

i still reckon on the street an 04 sti would be even - i dont know about "rip"

You were pulling away from a 315kw r8 in essentially a stock skyline. Me no believe

yep i kid you not

was about maybe 1.5 years ago

on a "private road" we both hit at 100km/h and i backed off we went ticked past $1.80

it was a blue R8 ute with the 315 badge on the rear of it, no idea if it was auto or manual

i was pulling away ever so slightly, only just

that was basic GTST with sub 190rwkw

my best 0 to 100 was 4.88 back in the old day

Maybe the guy couldn't drive lol. I managed to go door to door with those ve walkinshaw supercharged sedans on my private road. Later found out he had 357rwkw. I guess the weight kills those cars

Lol @ commodores. You'd hope 6 litres and FI would get you better than a mid 12...

was getting paid last night to do absolutely nothing because the floors at work were too wet and slippery from the humidity...then when they finally got the place dried out enough to work, 2 hours had passed, so then had to work back til 4am meaning even higher pay rate...now they're behind so I'll be able to do the same tonight lol..good ole' humidity

FYI

pauls car = ~145rwkw/tonne

315 "kw" conformadore = ~250rwkw = ~145rwkw/tonne

power to weight is dead even

that's a rough calc taking your car as 1350kg and the R8 @ 1750kg with a drivetrain loss of 20%

fwiw on e85 my car is ~100rwkw/tonne more than holden's finest lol

lol...

it runs right past my house so make sure you drop in

will do. need monies soon to pay for engine build. they've got the EFI kit on the LS5 now, but they haven't got it running yet. Engine's good for 350 killabees with no EFI, so hopefully with it, should run a lot smoother and more powah.

Then if I have any money left over after moving later in the year strap a supercharger to it for even moar powah.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
