Daily occurrence in my side of town. It's funny how all the Toorak tractors out there all think they are big and strong. Hey try driving in my area while your on your L's. Everyday on my way to school I get people tail-gating and trying to overtake me, just keep a smile and laugh at them, then they really get pissed.

Melbourne driver's are a joke, laugh it up and you'll always be the one with a smile on your face when they going off their t!ts.

i've had a few people rage at me at lights, tooting their horns and giving me the finger because i rolled up to the lights at a slow pace when i know it's going to change when i pull up when i get there so i save my self the hassle of putting it back into 1st gear / neutral.

One women pretty much jumped over into her passenger seat just to flip me the bird i just smiled and waved

One thing that really grinds my gears is people driving 20k under the speed limit and you can't overtake i have this one old lady in a pintara every now and then i will get stuck behind her going down old wells road in Chelsea heights it's 70km down that road she will be doing 40k at tops.

Yes, people insist on stopping by the road, next to a no stopping sign, to drop off a passenger for 5 to 10 freaking minutes, hold up 10 cars or so behind it, chat with the passenger, and no one could change lanes because the traffic was going too fast...

You've gotta abuse them.... continuously beeping the horn.. =D

For some reason when I read JJ's posts, I read it in my mind with a pommy accent.. :(

I had some lady in a Commodore on Burwood Hwy in Boronia swerve from behind behind me in traffic, out around me and push her way back in front of me by indicating and moving over without caring there was clearly no room at all. All so she could take the turn on to Ferntree Gully Rd like the rest of us driving patiently were doing in that lane. I had to hit the brakes to prevent a collision. Then somehow I managed to find my way back in front of her through traffic and she switched lanes to behind me and drove so far up the back of my car, I could see the wrinkles on her face.. but not only did she do that, she swerved a bit to fill my mirrors and held the horn down.

There was clearly nowhere for me to go with cars in front of me, and even if she made it past me again she would've been stuck still!

I'll drive sensibly and if it bothers them so much, they can find a way around me.

That's not to say if I see a car coming up behind me quickly, that I won't move over to the left to let them pass.. just don't expect me to move when there's clearly no where to go.

People just need to cool it on the roads.

Poor decisions? Ive seen my fair share of them.

A car does a u-turn in front of me at the end of the tunnel because he missed the kings way exit. :D

Another 3 times on Burwood hwy I've had cars coming towards me on the wrong side. Bloody scary when you're on a bike.

HAHAHA OMG I thought I was the only one who had this happen to em. Going down a long one way tunnel and seeing a pair of headlights coming towards you is a bit strange.

Everyone in this thread must be a good driver...or maybe a severe case of the better than average effect

Very few people are actually familiar with all the road rules/laws and I personally believe licence re-testing should be compulsory, no matter the expenses involved.

i agree with you 100%. also what annoys me is that when you want to overtake a slow vehicle and someone is doing the same in front they use the whole overtaking lane and just get past them in the end, you should quickly pass and move over as soon as you can to let other people get past as well.

Here Here!!! +11ty billion

This would help everyone on the road.

Victoria is in no way over populated, it has a few bottle necks especially around new housing estate, but over populated is a huge stretch. Better driving as in driving at the speed limit and keeping left would solve many a problem, a lot of people are fearful of driving at the speed limit with all of the government wipe of 5 campaigns and all of the insane drivers on the road, then the same fearful people drive too slowly end up giving people the shits, people with the shits then do something stupid or illegal to get around said slow coach and it results in accident.

This is very true. All the advertising campaigns seem to have done is get people who drive slow to think they should take the law into their own hands and slow everyone down! eg doing 90 in the right hand lane is making the road safer cause noone is speeding grrr.

If they let people pass there would be less people around them and safer for them and everyone on the road. Every now and again you find yourself on a road with people driving intelligently and it is an absolute pleasure. Most of the times I have experienced it have been near peak times when most drivers drive frequently and know where they are going.

Cars get backed up behind them and they just roll down the window and wave people to pass them. then theres the mercedes m-class that parks across the pedastrian crossing. i guess everyones out for the own nowadays

Fair point, but...you always hear everyone complaining about how terrible everyone else on the road drives...and no one really says they're a "terrible" driver, they will only ever concede they're not the "best". But there's gotta be a shitload of people on the other side of that bellcurve, so where are they?!?!

I would love to actually see a graph of driver skill as a value, I know it would never happen because that would require massive retesting or honest participants, but it would be interesting. Your right most of us consider ourselves not the best driver, but god damn there must be some dishonest people out there. I really wonder sometimes if people are that bad because they dont pay enough attention driving or there just that f**king stupid. Like could they be good for 30 mins and pass a driving test again or would they all fail miserably.

I think that ACA highlighted a big issue only few days ago with overseas people driving here whilst on visa's who have no idea about how to drive on our roads and how to abide by our road rules.

As i was going to serve summons on one overseas guest this week for drink driving (0.357) highest reading I have seen. We pulled up his neighbour driving along with 3 Y.O not wearing seat belt and driving on Learner's only without qualified driver and has failed our test 3 times then pulled out his punjab licence and tried to use that.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
