Best all out performance car I've driven (braking, handling, power, comfort etc) is my old mans blown 370rwkw CV8 Monaro with huge HSV Premium brakes on it. The car is an absolute animal and stops on a dime.

Best handling car i've driven is my mates 370Z, was extremely impressed with the handling of it.

Best thing I have sat in is a Ferrari 599 in Sydney. Sitting in something worth more than our house was definetely an experience.

Hoping to do a Supercar drive day in Brisbane for my birthday next year so will finally get to drive some Ferrari's and Lambo's to see what all the fuss is about :D

well its titled "best car YOU have driven" but for all we know there are people on here that are including cars they have "driven" via playstation or Xbox

speaking from experience?

Which exotic are you bringing to wakefield?

Bobby - hahaha that was like me when I drove the race car in Dubai, I had a throbbing monster for a week!!

I wouldn't feel so bad about that, I absolutely love my car and I haven't even driven it this year :D

Its not a bad thing. The 33 is great to drive. But I would love to have a whirl in an exotic or any 100k+ euro. (even just to putt around town at 50km/h).

My rebuilt porsche 911 c2, its a totally different car to drive compared to anything else on the road , heres a pic , also been lucky enough to drive a R35

lol, Chubbeh had a chubby.

Seriously though, i found the straights a bit boring, but fark me cornering in an open wheeler is just insane, had the biggest bruises on the sides of my knees for ages. It was at OP as well, and the dog leg was just epic.

Dude, you has pics of tearing sh!t up in Dubai?

Stu, aren't the TVR's teh cars they call the widowmakers? Did you get a chance to give it a squirt or was it a cruisy drive?

ahh yeah my favourite is my stagea too....perfect street car.

clse 2nd is my old 200b. wonder where that got to. dan better not have sent it to simmsmetal. maybe its time for my 3rd ownership of that car.

Some of you may know those plates too..

porsche_911_turbo_le.jpg

Not the same car but this 911 Turbo LE was one of the nicest sounding, pleasurable cars to drive. The rx7 just hits warp speed and deafens ears. 1/500 in Race spec every made. It was offered to me for sale after I bought the RX7 .. It hurt to say no

P.S in regards to above.. This is a widow maker

only games I play are first person shooters on pc, I hate car games there stupid and unrealistic.

And i'd only take an exotic to wakey if insurance covers it, not worth loosing half the cost of a house

Was the 911 made in first production 1964? I cant find much mention of the 994 GT2 but fairly certain the Merc was made well before that. They invented "sports" in sports cars as they crushed the Italians hands down when they built this car. It was made in the 1950s

"Mercedes 300SL was the first successful super car built in the year 1954. It has 2 seats with gull wing doors. It is the most refined and most Inspirational sport car of our era. It's fuel injected 3 litre produced over 240bhp giving a claimed top speed of 165mph. They also named it "Widow maker" since many male driver died crashing their 300SL."

To back it up .. some useless top gear mention

I only know it because that bodystyling is timeless, way before its time..

And everybody has forgotten to metion the fact a good example of these things easily passes the 1 million AUD price range. I remeber watching an episode of foxtel about the History of Mercedes, this thing has been stuck in my head ever since.

ANd aparently the ride and performance is better than the average 1980's car (so people have said)????? Either way they look awesome.

mm best standard road car prob f430 scuderia,

but nothing has compared to my 34 gtr b4 i sold it to my brother 470awkw t51r rb30 with everything, no lag and was just crazy on the street, stil prob the ultimate car until i finish my 32! which is pretty much the same shit but better :( dry sump, 380mm AP's, carbon interior and lots of carbon!

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
