Went to the Hare and Forbes sale today and pickup up a thread insert set and a bush driver set. Could have spent a small fortune...

I was in there today as well. Bought that llarge HSS drill set, some 125mm soft jaws for the vice and also that nice step down drill set. It was very busy today, lots of wide eyed adults looking like they were kids in a candy store.

At the risk of taking my own thread off track.....

I'm a huge supporter of china shit tools.

Basically having the right tool for the job is always better than having a top quality wrong tool and using it in the wrong way. For me a good example is that I could afford a H&F press, drill press etc that I would never to be able to afford in a quality brand. And frankly if I use it once a month it really doesn't matter if it fails on me quicker than a good quality one. I wouldn't look at it the same way if I used it every day for business

That rule doesn't always hold for me of course; in particular common things like spanners, ratchets etc that I use more regularly I buy mid quality to save my knuckles....

This, except for stuff that tends to break - circlip pliers, quarter inch drive sockets, easy outs....

I was looking online and Masters have a Felo Ergonic Screwdriver Set 6 Piece for only $40

http://www.masters.com.au/product/100884747/felo-ergonic-screwdriver-set-6-piece

That is really cheap

Went and checked them out today. The exact same ones but a 5 piece set was nearly double the price.

There was two sets left after I grabbed a set if anyone was interested. The chullora store.

ive had a few sets of felo screwdrivers, they are definitely worth the money. i used them everyday as a sparky with no dramas. only ever had one break and that was the terminal flathead and only after a retarded apprentice used it to lever a 2mm thick bit of tin out of a 20mm holesaw.

Made another simple Cool Tool today for the purpose of removing and fitting Lower Control Arm Bushes in the R31.

Not my idea but it works well and hopefully it will be just as good for the Trailing Arm Bushes. We shall see...

Piece of pipe, Threaded bar with nuts, Washers from some R31 Castor rods. Priceless.

Wish I could make something to do Ball Joints. :/

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
