That is clean as!

Epic Win!

It looks stock but are you planning on any mods?

Not planning anything major other then to maintain (increase) reliability.

Looking at stainless turbos and a new ECU (Power FC). Probably a new driver's seat (Bride) and an Aussie (well german - Blaupunkt) stereo - that's about it.

Cheers

Sounds good!

What turbos you thinking off?

Stainless turbos?

I think he means Steel Internal Turbo's.

There are much better ecu options around than the outdated PFC too.

I believe PFC's are still good and they work very well.

It would be my next step up from the Nistune, I am going for.

Doh - ofcourse not stainless (stoopid SS acronym as in HKS GT-SS ;-)

looking at simple N1 or 2530's or GT-SS........the jury is still out and research to be done - just want to get rid of the ceramics as a future potential problem.

And while on the subject of Doh - seeing this my first Skyline - can someone enlighten me on what is the measurement of the numberplate well at the back ?? Presumably the standard 372mm plates don't fit (have seen many 'bendies') but would appreciate an idea of what plates would fit neatly (thinking 5 digit slimline??)

Cheers

From memory the Ceramic Turbines are 20+ year old Garrett T28 Turbines.

N1 = Garrett -7 / Garrett -9

Garrett -9's have a marginally smaller Compressor Wheel compared to the Garrett -7.

But allow for more top end as the configuration / pitch angle of the turbine blades is different.

HKS GT-SS = Garrett -9, but with a different Turbine Housing.

Good for response and perfect for street performance.

HKS GT2530 = Garrett -5, but with a slightly bigger Compressor Wheel.

Would be "laggy" for street unless you rebuild the RB26 / 2.6lt HKS V-Cam or go for a 2.8lt / RB28 HKS V-Cam.

I got the standard VIC Roads Slimline Plates and they are 'bendies'.

You'd have to go custom slimline if you were to make them fit without bending them.

After 6 months of hard work I've finally bought another skyline. :D specs: '00 34gt 5sp, Work CR Kai 17's, C-West kit, HKS adjustable coilovers, heavy duty button clutch, 2.5 Kakimoto zorst and has a GTR mfd. I'll try take more photos when I have the time to.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
