after having a talk with my tuner i think i go -5 turbos what cams would suit them? is 280 to big

The ones Nissan put in it when they built it will be fine. Just get some cam gears. There are 4,268 threads on this very subject if you want to look into it further.

Evo was an option but i just don't like them, driven two of my mates mild mod evo 7 and damn are they quick! but i just not a big fan of them.

plus group a gtr look so nice!

Yes i agree they do look nice and are exciting to drive. but if i had an evo i would have alot more races/track days under my belt.

as for the cams i believe i ran some tomei 260 with 9.1mm lift on -5 and they were nice. i'd have to ask my engine builder the exact specs.

Ohh this ia very long and slippery slope my friend, be very careful once you start its hard real hard to stop.

I know this cause i just want a good track car as well............just buy mine lol i have other toys to play with

>_<

i saw your viper build that thing is amazing!

i know its a very slippery slope ahaha! just have to look at my bent :D track gts-t LOL!

On the whole shock topic at your experiane level I rekon I could throw a set of bc coilivers in your car then use the same springs in a set of 18grand penske's and honestly I'd be very suprised if you could determine which shock was which. We've done it with a few guys who have campained state level sedans for a while.

I have a set of Bc's a set of proflex and a set of penske's that will fit a gtr easily if you wanna see what I mean.

Don't waste your money on stupidly expensive shocks just because they are a Jap brand name and expensive.

I'm not recommending you buy bc's either I'm recommending you don't buy something overkill.

I'm sure the serious qld guys would agree if I said have a chat with Murray coote about getting a set of shocks made up to suit your application and budget.

Springs your kidding youself if you rekon 10plus!

Been there Tested that. I'd garantee you'll take a second atleast out of the car with the right springs, even more so if you do get the weight down.

Good to see another gtr being built.

Yeh, speak with Murray. Check bank balance and then be forced to go buy 2nd hand of yahoo auctions :(

Murray's stuff is good value in the grand scheme, and IMO you're better of slashing laptime via great handling versus more horsepower, it just makes more sense.

Having said that, I use a set of Apexi N1 shocks in mine, but one day, oonnnnne day, I'll get some MCA :D

hmm

another question. need to pick my ecu to go with the engine specs (gt-ss aim for 500hp @ engine)

Limited the list down to 2

d-jetro or vipec, i know my tuner loves d-jetro as that is what he sugguest for me to run when i went to saw him yesterday (forgot to ask about vipec)

what are people throughts? cost wise i can get d-jetro for around $1000-$1200 with all the gear, still waiting on price on the vipec

I once read a similar question about ViPec being posted and saw a Vic guys response which wasa picture of the ViPec box being used as a door stop. Harsh, but originally there were some integration problems, I dont think the EBC finction is still working properly. Many have great success, others seem to struggle with needing a few tweaks. But the end result seems great.

Not trying to write off the product, but I think its important to consider as if its not the recommendation of your tuner then it means the time and expense, dyno time etc getting the ECU working is likely to come out of your pocket in tune time. If he tells you to go ViPec then odds are he has his head around the little gremlins and/or wont charge you to flash/fix issues etc

Just pop in to see my tuner to ask about the Vipec, he said he can tune it and has no issue tuning it but for the price he said he rather put an Adaptronic in my car as its alot cheaper and you get similar functions.

However he pretty much sold me on going d-jetro. i have to agree with his reasoning that having the h/c with the knock function allows you to detect problems before they destroy your engine on the track

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
