Fitted an SAFC II to the M35 today. I had it lying in my cupboard for the last 2 years, and thought it may come in handy! Only wired it and set it up for now. Need to make a mount and fit it stealth somwhere, then get on the dyno when I have finished the front of the exhaust to tune it.

I was going to post pics of the Greddy boost gauge I got from FR33K, but he sold me a broken/damaged unit :(

Went out today and picked up a nice Defi boost gauge with controller unit II THAT WORKS!

I'll get it installed on Monday hopefully.

Hey gtrwagon

did you contact Aleks before you went and slagged him off in numerous threads?

He's a top bloke and I'm sure he wouldve offered you a refund if you explained the problem

he sells heaps of parts on here and he wouldn't knowingly sell broken shit

dry your eyes,it was only 50 bucks, and if you hadn't of made a twat out of yourself and actually contacted him about it you would gotten your money back I'm sure.you never know,if you man up and contact him you might even still get a refund

pull your head in

And when did you two start dating? I don't remember asking his bitch for comments? It wasn't $50 it was $60, as I kindly added $10 for postage which he didn't ask for. I have been more than fair waiting 2 weeks for a broken gauge. I don't want my money back either. If he needs $60 so badly as to rip people off, he can keep it. But I have ever right to warn others. Which I will gladly do. Should I go into the PM I sent asking (after waiting a week) would he kindly send it to my work place instead, as I am now back at work, to which I got no reply and it was sent to my house (a week later) and was on my door step when I got home. Yeah, top seller - highly recommended NOT!

grow up n stop slagging ppl for nothing.

Since when is selling someone broken goods nothing?

I know your all a bunch of mates and will stick together cause "he's a good bloke" blah blah blah

But it doesn't change the fact the gauge was broken.

As for paying to get it installed - I have mates too, no charge.

Blizzerd, the 34R rims look sweet! Wish I had the cash to splurge on a set :P

GTRWAGON, I'm sure most of us are reasonable people and would of offered you a refund after a PM. The item might of been broken without his knowledge...

Enough whinging from EVERYONE about this boost gauge or temp bannings will be handed out.

If a dud product is sold, take it up with the seller and see if you can have it sorted out. Future posts on this subject will be treated as if you're slagging a business on here...

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
