I recall that one going to Pickles some time ago, I guess it didnt sell or whoever bought it couldn't fix it for what the deemed an acceptable profit?

This was on Ebay last year, he wanted somewhere at least $6500, obviously it was a little ambitious.whistling.gif

Originally, he was making out that it was only a couple of grand to repair; which we all know is basically bollocks.

Also, the rules have changed in NSW, so if a NSW buyer wanted it; this is basically a no-go unless you want to strip it.

Basically anything thats been declared write off (even if only for financial reasons) cant be re-registered in NSW, is that correct?

SA still allows for financial write offs to be re-registered, but if it has any structural damage it'll never be road registerable.

$6.5k? You can buy a whole new Stagea for somewhere around $12k these days! Very ambitious. Its definitely a bit of work requried to get it back on the road, and theres a signficiant lead time in sourcing the parts (all has to come via sea). Definitely not a small project or one for the uninformed. Plus axis front ends are a bit more scarse to come by 2nd hand, likewise with the guards.

Less damage and kms that were on my car... but less mods too.

Only just slightly less than yours! Looks like it has an exhaust of some description, but no idea about the car other than that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the case; I have a couple of mates who buy damaged RWO (repairable write off) bikes and repair them, they've basically stopped now.

HAS HAD AN ADDITIONAL "SENTINEL WARRANTY PLAN" TAKEN OUT ON THE VEHICLE FOR 60 MONTHS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE

Erm... would you really expect them to honour the warranty now?

i love that he said:

WOULD HAVE TO BE ONE OF THE BEST KEPT STAGEA'S AROUND

Yeah doesnt really look like it!

it will be good for parts, or to strip out and turn into a track car!

Lol, except for the front left corner being smashed to shit...

Who's stripping an AXIS for the track; you might as well start with one of these...

Is the owner of this car on SAU?

Didn't someone dinged his AXIS a few months ago?

I dont think they're on here. That car has been off the road for a while. I think Angus Smart posted about it when it was up for sale last time. You might be thinking of the silver Axis that went through pickles 6 or so months ago, that was up on M35Stagea.info for discussion. Went for over 3k at auction iirc

This axis has been on fleabay a few times now. Last time it was towards the end of last year and it did sell. I assume the buyer didn't end up paying as its the same guy listing it for sale again. I can't remember what it did sell for though. This seller must buy a lot of repairable write off cars from auction and try to on sell on fleabay for a quick profit. He has a heap of cars for auction and all apparently needing stuff all work.

Well it seems my old stagea has officially been written off.

Suggest all the SA lads keep an eye on the auctions and local wreckers.

Might be able to score yourselves some dayz carbon accessories and kit.

:(

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
