Long time browser, first time poster. Been on the lookout for GTR's for the last few months and had contemplated bringing in a car from Japan with a decent looking V Spec I/High KMS Vspec 2 on the cards. Instead an opportunity came up and I just purchased an ADM R32 GTR in Silver.

Not sure if I made the right decision regarding value/future value etc as they both were around the same cost but obviously not sure if the condition would have been the same etc. Although i'm sure the car from Japan would have come with some nasty surprises.

Congratulations Peter ....... If it is the one from South Australia I think you snatched a bargain.

It lasted less than 24 hours on Carsales/Carpoint.

I spoke to the owner and confirmed the build as number #51/100.......

I aslo advised him that the quoted colour splits were wrong. They are 45 Red, 30 Black and 25 Silver........ I know of at least 3 silver ones that have gone to god in the last 4 years, let alone what has happened to them in the 21 years prior. At the price you would have paid you can't lose.

What State/City are you in?

Cheers,

Bob.

Hey Bob,

Im in Sydney NSW.

I was actually going to ask about the front badge and how would you possibly source another one as it hasn't got the original Nissan badge but rather the S badge like on imports. Im hoping that they are of similar sizing to other Nissan cars but I think that it won't be. I also have to find some original seats that I will put back in at some time in the future as they were retrimmed in quality leather but i'm a sucker for originality.

Well that is reassuring, thank you for the insightful information! Didn't ever think id end up with an ADM especially given the precedent set this year at Shannons.

I'll post some pictures when it arrives.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

The part number for the front badge is  6289262C00

Unfortunately the part has not been available for quite a while.

You can get a very similar badge off a period correct Pulsar/Exa or similar but it is slightly different.

That said it is closer than the "S" badge from the JDM's.

Send me a PM when it arrives and if you would like me to have a look at the car for you and help compile a list of "fixes" I'd be only too happy to help.

I have 2-3 main suppliers of used parts and 4-5 suppliers of new parts so usually between all of them we can go close to getting most things.

That said, some things are a hell of a lot harder to get than they were 18 months ago.

Anyway, drop me a line when she arrives.

Cheers,

Bob.

I saw that advert and also noticed the colour split was incorrect. Good job Bob :)

All ADM 's were 1991 builds so most likely an import but please post up more info so we can confirm.

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
