Buggered if I know, interior and exterior are pure RS.... maybe it has Autech suspension?

Ride height looks fairly standard (Based on that photo from the rear) - assuming 'Autech' suspension is what they throw in the AXIS it should be looking a lot more 'slammed' imho. Too odd!

Yeah, ride height does look stock, but I don't know how much lower the Autech suspension is (wouldn't be much)... if it is at all lower than RS/RX suspension.

about a couple of inches i think.

I've seen my car side to side with an Autech, and it looked quite a bit lower.

Considering that the Nismo S-tune is 20mm lower than RS/RX stock, I would seriously doubt that the Autech suspension is as much as 10mm lower than standard.

Garett has an M35 with Autech kit which has S-tune suspension on it, and it looked much lower than the Sage222's

Interesting. Someone want to FAST my VIN and see what it is?

cool i do have an autech! (not that i have any idea what that means exactly) ;)

happy that in stimulated some conversation too!

does that FAST app tell me anything else interesting? I see its a build 9/03 which is nice.. the seller told me it was an 03.. tho i couldnt find any details on the car..

Does it tell me if it has HICAS?

just on another note for those following this thread.. i will indeed junk the AVIC-XH9

I am looking at putting a flytouch2 into it to replace it..

10.2" screen. GPS, HDMI, Wifi 3g, divx, mp3 games etc.. It runs Android so the world is your oyster!

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/10-2-ePad-FlyTouch2...=item1e5fb47ae6

Can get cigarette lighter power for it to hard wire it in.. then i should be able to go headphone jack to RCA amplifier to feed back into the stereo.

Anyone got any experience with this?

im downloading Nissan FAST now.. though can someone tell me if mine has HICAS?

i just had a look at mine again today at the dealer (still a couple of weeks away).. They had it next to a 01 non autech.

The 01 had a smaller diameter exhaust at least from the centre muffler.. also the centre muffler on the 01 was only a small unit where mine has the big molded unit..

What is factory diameter exhaust of the stagea? cause on my autech it looked at least 2.5" and the 01 next to it looked like 2 1/4".

Wondering if mine has aftermarket or the 01 does or both.

To the best of my knowledge, HICAS only came on AR-X models. An AXIS will have HICAS if it started off life as an AR-X also. Given that the model on the back of your car is 250t RS, I'd say 'No' to HICAS. But we've been wrong about your car before

can anyone tell if the m35 shares the same springs as anything else? skyline etc? looking at a cheap option to lower it. :ermm:

350z springs SHOULD fit. Stock springs on the M35 are the same as V35 and 350z - or at least thats what I was told by Sinergy motorsports when I was trying to source springs

I think you will find v35 are similar but much softer, not what you want when lowering. I have king springs here if you want to lower on the cheap... Are your shocks ok?

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
