Here you go Jez

As far as I know, it's a untouched RB25. Full boost is actually 5750rpm lol, as you can see it's a slug to drive off boost too.

I've spoken to Eiji and they do make a 10cm rear for my turbo so I'll probably get that sometime next year.

Really wasn't expecting it to be THIS laggy, live and learn I suppose.

wow laggy and no power at all! im selling a td06 that will make best part of 300wkw and be way more fun than that if you keen to move on

Honestly. pull it off and count the blades, measure the wheel diameters. Along with what others have said its possible that the wheels are not what you ordered and its some other beast all together. With sooooo many turbos its not a stretch to see the wrong spec turbo being delivered.

for that setup the 12cm is no good.

Owners comments were that it's a TD06-20G, with 12cm housing.

By my reckoning that's broadly equivalent to a GT3571, and a 1.00A/R turbine housing. Looks much more like something you'd see on a reasonable sized diesel eg. Landcruiser 1HZ.

Of course it will be slow to respond. Simply wrong spec for the engine and application.

It's a TD06S and it is a T3.

Spewing eh! Ahwell I got it cheap ($600 via Ebay special). Atleast it's fixable, just a pain in the arse lol.

I wonder if Raz' 10cm rear would fit my turbo, hmmmm.

Cheers for all the help guys :)

back on topic tho id say put some more boost into and get it back on the dyno but def 12cm rear is no good

hey guys

sorry too start again but there is 240 pages and am in need of a new turbo and cant be bothered going through the hole thread.

i am looking at around 260-280rwkw on my r34 rb25 neo.

my supporting mods at the moment are

full 3" exhaust

fmic

hks low mount mani

hks 38mm external gate

pod filter

apexi pfc

greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller

walbro 255 fuel pump

370cc injectors

will most likely be getting a set of 660cc injectors shortly.

what would be the recommendation for that kind of power figure with minimul lag?

thanks guys.

Predicting strong torque between 5-8000rpm. Going by the pic associated with the post it's optimal use is on a drift spec engine.

That's pretty high up in the rev range, out of interested, would a 10cm housing start the torque down at maybe 3500rpm or so? something?

Get a T67-25g it'll make that power easily. Just so happens I have one for sale. ;)

With stock-spec engine internals (ie cams, CR) in a 25DET that seems to be commonly achieved with the 10cm housing. The 12cm and cams should result in pushing the torque curve to the right, probably a good thing for a drifter with clutch kicking.

Can't readily see why the 20G comp would be the thing of choice over a 25G for that performance target. Much the same situation with the Garrett range GT3076 vs GTX3071, the performance outcomes are lineball because the smaller comp has to spin faster to pump the air-mass.

That said, it's an option that should hit the nominated power range without too much problem.

    • Yeah based on old XRC5964S specs, it looks to be roughly GTX3576R sized? But this 5964S compressor will flow 90lb airflow somewhat similar to the compressors in both the GTX3584RS or G35-1050.. I fully expected the 0.64 rear A/R to choke up top - seems way too small from typical convention - but these are seemingly beneficial over the prior 0.82 results.. Be interesting to see if he comments on the EFR question in that thread - he mentioned in a prior video that BW EFR's were the "cats pajamas 10 years ago", but by the sounds of things all his kits have been using Xona for quite a while now.
    • Yeah it’s still got the oem manual gearbox and clutch, only kinda mods are a blow off valve, coil overs, and a aftermarket intercooler. Also had it for about 2 months now with a lovely midnight purple paint on it.
    • Yeeeppp, been following a lot of the testing on the latest Xona stuff and there are some mental results.  He also went over 1000hp @ 4 hubs on his Mainline with a XRE6364S (63mm) which was also well into the 20psi range before 4000rpm on a 2.5. Crazy stuff. Fwiw the XRE5964S is basically the modern equivalent of their old HTA3582 - would drive nicely enough on an RB25 or 26, but proven capable of a huge amount of power if you want to spicy with rpm tho even at sane boost levels will make stout numbers
    • The axels in my R33 seem tired, and have a bit of play in them. I cannot find any new of course, not interested in buying used, but I am looking to see if anyone can identify some cross compatible axles. In the states I have seen suggested for S chassis the J30 axles, however for the skyline (as best I can tell) the lengths are about an inch off (2.5cm) on both sides. R33 my measure L 22" R 24.5" GPT L 22.5" 24.25" J30 L 23.5" 25.5"  so shaft length is probably an inch wider. Not sure if someone has another still remanufactured option besides the J30. I figured worst case I can buy a pair tear them down and swap the center shaft. My other option was reaching out to GSP to see if they cannot piece together a set, since the axle stubs are still manufactured, I wouldn't think it be that hard to find a shaft or make a shaft work.
    • Potentially some interesting data for some of you here; Hank Iroz from Iroz Motorsport testing a new Xona Rotor 5964S on a Audi RS3 2.5L DAZA motor. https://facebook.com/share/p/14EU18MyDqZ/ Cliff Notes: Turbo has the new Xona XRE compressor aero with an X4C compressor cover, reportedly 0.64 rear housing. 900whp (670kw) @ 37psi, 170k shaft speed, motor is making 2bar (29psi) boost by roughly 3800rpm, 500lbft (670nm) torque by 3500rpm. They overlaid a stock RS3 on USA 91 fuel (red), and a "Stage 2" RS3 on E85 (yellow), and this 5964S (blue) - the 5964S isn't losing any ground to either. Apparently out-flowing their prior tests with a Xona 8264S (green), and this 5964S (white) also has a smaller A/R than that did.
