Was it hard? Fitting mine tomorrow lol any tips?

It wasn't too bad. The only problem I had was I thought the lines that came with the kit were a little short for my liking. However, still more accessable than what the oil filter was before.

I also had to cut down a brand new Stanley 300mm adjustable spanner to fit under the intake plenum. It is now more around 120mm

Got nistune done to the car today. Pretty happy with power gain, was 135kW before the nistune. Very smooth delivery!

Excuse my C34 ignorance but shouldn't you be getting more torque? Power looks great! Just was expecting a different torque curve...

Was thinking the same thing when I saw it!...Hp figure is good...the nm figure does not make sence.

Wouldn't have a clue! I got Shaun to tune for economy for what it's worth. Apart for a smooth curve I'm not sure what's what on the print out.

That's a pretty impressive gain. Was it just the tune or have you also added bigger exhaust, more boost or any other mods? Good advertisement for Nistune. - OK just saw your other post - now for an upgraded turbo!

Yeah just Nistune. If this also translate to better economy it's be great!

Installed New Alternator and Power Steering belts today.

Also adjusted the front sway bar to a stiffer setting now that I have some tires with a little grip. :)

Diagnosed another problem of a big hesitation around right hand corners.. time to replace the Walbro fuel pump. :(

Whats wrong with the fuel pump mate? Did you end up running full voltage to it? If its in the stock housing it shouldnt cut out at all as it sits in a cup in the tank, is it when low on fuel or all the time?

No, Stock power supply.

When I drive around right hand corners and I give the car a bit of throttle (usuall in 1st or 2nd) I get a big hesitation around 3-4k rpm. The car settles and then continues on to higher rpm.

I took Craig for a drive and he thought it felt like the fuel pump as he though his did something similar before it failed.

Not sure if it is all the time but I am usually conscious of it when the tank is 1/4 or lower.

I have the option of changing the pump tomorrow whilst fuel is low of filling up tomorrow and seeing if it still persists with a full tank.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
