good luck with that its a fun job!!! try and get the O2 sensor off so you can get to the bolt behind it otherwise get a special ball joint cuppler for the socket not the yoke type cos it'll just bind up..........

ive got it booked into my mechanic so ill let him have the fun job. Was getting late so thought ...f#ck it. I see what people are saying. Bout not alot of room in there.

It's all about undoing the 4 bolts for the g'box crossmember & lowering that down to allow the engine to tilt back on the mounts. This gives enough room to get to the O2 sensor & top bolt/s. You may also want to drop off some of the shrouds further down the exhaust. This is why I raise the back of the car as well, otherwise ramps would be all you need. Your mechanic will have it done in no time on a hoist. But tell him to leave the bonnett up when he puts it on the hoist, just in case the engine hits.

Well, after stripping the bits i needed off an s2 at the local wreckers the car went in to have the manual conversion done.

Cant wait to drive it from the workshop to the exhaust place..... much excite

I vented my bonnet yesterday!

Seems to be doing the job......f#$k it lets(pumps) some heat out! When the thermo's come one I get that weird heat haze concentrated in one area. I'll post a pic of the top once I get the edging on.

my mates with evos have the same thing

DO NOT lean on the mesh! or you will end up with char-grilled patterns on your hand, though on evo's the vents are directly above the tubro

^^^ like!

Also like that it means your leg must be at the stage where your confident in driving a manual!

Yeah all progressing nicely, been driving now since July last year. Right knee is holding up, still gots a long ways to go tho. My PT is great as he's had a knee reco himself, so he knows the limitations when training.

Decided now that I got some extra cash and the time to take the car off the road to get some thing happening. Need to get new guages to monitor vitals, also check my ecu as to wether I can send it away for the nistune mod.

Picked up an m35 nm35 pnm35 oil sump pan from Nissan. Sorry just being obvious for the search function.

It's the bottom black thingo, so if you dent it, you can replace with

Part number 11110-AL810

I modified mine for an oil return, so when we took the turbo off, we placed with with a beaten out one until I could get a new one.

List price is $170 plus gst. Maybe a little cheaper.

Apparently lol

E-Troll alert!!!

Dale......yes it pumps the heat out......looks a lot neater with the edging now.

Lol, fab starts tomorrow. ;)

Why did you put the hole there Craig? Is that really the hottest area? Or you just picked somewhere easy?

I was always hoping to get the Masa bonnet eventually...

So I finally moved the stepper motor for the boost controller, cut almost half a metre out of the hose to the actuator, which was good. Others are *slightly* longer, so I'll test it tomorrow.

Because the back of my bonnet is already raised to get the air out. Also that is the area that most of the air get stuck in...I was finding the thermos could cool but because our bonnet is so low the air was still getting stuck in the front area. If a sidewinder is ever shot at my car now I know where it's heading. Those masa bonnets are nice but I cannot justify $1k ATM when I have other needs/wAnts.

I thought you proved that raising the rear of the bonnet did more harm than good, or Scott told me you did..

finished venting bonnet today......Wing and Front bar to go!

Great job but not entirely convinced it's in the correct area of the bonnet. I reckon positioned a bit more on the passenger side and higher would have it quite effective with heat extraction from the turbo area.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
