Damn those Swedes and their keenly priced flatpack temptations.

And their carpark.

Indeed, probably getting back at my LOLvo for not being the genuine Swedish article...

I resent that.. ;)

Too bad about the paint though.. What was the cause?

I'll go out on a limb, and say it was a yellow car park pole........

Correct, I reversed into a yellow parking bollard. I was tired and wasn't paying proper attention - lucky for me it wasn't another car or, even worse, a person.

I luv the brick duco on the guard. Where did you get it?

The what, Hugh? If you mean the terracotta colour on the ground, then it's just concrete paint/sealant that's slowly being removed so we can repaint it.

Major operation today..

I filled 'er up :whistling:

lol you get used to that. I drove to Canberra for a meeting yesterday morning....2 tanks required. The way that engine pulls is spectacular....but so is it's fuel use

On a similiar note to the reverse incident above, kurbed my rim.

Had them a year and haven't touched a thing....

Rushing in pulling into traffic with a crying bubba in the back gets you this:

No dent, just a rub.

Filled the gash up with permanent marker as per importers recommendations... glad I didnt powder coat them dark grey now.

That's why I hate stretched tyres. I'd rather rub a soft tyre against a gutter than damage my wheels.

Not to mention streched tyers look GEEHHAAYY! And have no performance Advantage.? Stupid fasion

lol you just upset so many drifters (if such people still exist, they are probably "time-attackers" now).

can't beleive the number of people that have told me that stretched tyres are better than a correct fit. They all knew better than a) the manufacturers and b) the race teams (all the way up to f1). I've never seen a stretched tyre on a serious race car

Dont want to start a stretch vs no stretch debate, I agree with all points (except maybe the homophobic bit), but 245s are as big as I need and aren't super stretched.

This size was even on the tyre's data sheet to match my rim size.

265s would be great but then I would rub guards and my car would not gain any everyday useable grip with only basic suspension and brake mods.

I could've spent the same money on a cheaper tyre type that were wider and have less grip in the end.

In the end nothing would've saved a 19" rim from the angle I glanced the kurb on.

Fitment looks good bud, don't listen to anyone else, mod the car to suit you.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
