Apparently BMW have had talks about joining the V8SC. Normally I'm dubious about this as it's usually media speculation, but it seems like they may be serious this time. Firstly, do you agree, and secondly, do you like the idea?

Personally I like it, more diversity is a good thing. Foreign manufacturers will improve competition and thus racing, hopefully.

Another manufacturer would be great. There has been plenty of rumurs about toyota and even recently I heard mitsubishi were considering designing a front engine rear drive platform that could posibly also be used in the v8sc. Bmw would be great too.

A turbocharged version of the 370z would be awsome too if nissan came on board. I dont think the twin turbo four wheel drive r35 would be allowed but the rear drive 370z may be allowed. Of coarse in naturally aspirated form it would struggle against larger capacity v8s so a turbo charged version would be great to see out there.

You realise that the JGTC R35 GTR is a V8? Well at least the GTR running around GT1 in Europe is a big V8. For Nissan to be let in it would need to be their four door Skyline platform wkth R35 V8. Unfer the skin can almost be a control chassis, but 4df Skyline panels and homologated v8

All for it as the racing is quiet close and entertaining, but thede days can do with more variety

Right u are roy. I dont follow either series close enough to know exact ruling on what platforms are allowed but yes of coarse I didnt even think of the 4 door thing when thinking of 370z.

I do remember reading about gtr using v8 in the jap series now come to think of it but I dont ever watch or follow it so my knowledge of the series isn't great.

Maybe I just really wanted to see a turbo charged platform in there so I got a little excited lol. I miss the atcc days lol.

you mean like the F50 that rocks a VQ in a land barge RWD platform? Or the relatively smaller C35 sedans? Neither sold in oz tho in full volume.

I thought the restrictions in place in v8supertaxi's meant that both bogan sleds were essentially the same shit with different shells? I doubt BMW or Nissan for that matter would be prepared to Nascar it up for a fringe consumer group like australia.

Is the jgtc v8 powered r35 in a rear wheel or four wheel configuration. Im assuming four wheel still?

So that engine in front of the hollinger box the v8sc series currently uses in rear wheel drive config. a conrol chassis and 4 door panneling as you mentioned. Sounds awsome to me. Cant see it happening but sounds great non the less lol

I think I'd start watching Bathurst again (last enjoyed it in 1992) R32 GTRs, E30 M3s, Sierra Cosworths etc)

The more manufacturers the better in my opinion, but it does go against the financial spinoffs that Holden and Ford see with the current layout.

(please no New Zealander bashing :) )

to clarify - AFAIK there has been NO use of turbo in JGTC (now GTC) for YEARS now...

reason being is becuase of the power regulations means that turbo lag plays a huge part in the cars ability to corner etc...

nissan GTR is a V8..

cerumo / toms / woodone supras were all V8..

they're just very very highly tuned V8's so that there is lots of peak power but also low down torque as well..

back on topic!

do i think it's a good thing...

...well yeah sure, why wouldn't i want to see another contender in a racing series with two dedicated manufacturers that make two very similar cars..

but as shan said... the commodore / falcon cars are essentially the exact same guys just with different shells..

whil I love group C and group A cars, th racing was f**king crap, was all about who had the most money and that was it, having the top 10 spread out by 2 laps after 10 laps of racing is boring.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
