Yeah was a good day for it. My mate Andrew ended up doing a 12.9 in the grey 33 and lifted 3/4 track because the drivers inner guard came out. So would have been 12.5/12.6ish full noise all the way. Seems plenty of practice with the starts would make a world of difference.

yeah I saw that run, I was like wtf?!

I found this interesting thread on aero which I wanted for later so I'll leave it here http://www.timeattackforums.com/forums/aero-dynamics/1177-front-splitter-design-properties-2.html

hahaha... yeah, No. lol. about half came from that, other half I shanghaied off Brads car.

I may not of read that thread well enough, didnt seem to go much into dive fins/canards and fin area and attack angles etc, so again will just mess around with those. will mount them so they can come on and off easily

Alright, bit of an update with my car.

- I've got some new Just Jap Camber arms,

- got my LCAs modded so they're adjustable and rose jointed now,

- oil restrictors in

- new sump on the way

- installed Haltech IQ3 GPS logger dash as well as a few more sensors here and there.

- shed is fully stocked with tyres ready for Super Sprints on the 30th oct and the Round 5 of Tas Drift series on the 5th Nov.

I've got a new front bar too that I'm going to attempt to make a splitter for but will most likely be terribad.

Shooting for a 59 second lap around basky on the 30th assuming the weather is awesome :)

Saving up for some 18" wheels too, not really sure what to get though, I'm thinking D1R Lensos still because they're really cheap, but there is something about them that makes me not want to buy them...

Setup for sprints will be maybe soften up the rear end a little to stop me sliding around like an asshole

-4.5 degrees camber on the front, -1.2 on the rear (not adjustable yet); Hoping more camber on the front will help the mid corner understeer I've been getting.

Aiming high now and going for a 59 second lap around basky on my drift tyres. (still saving up for some semis)

Goals for drift include doing a whole run without spinning out :) haha. Just qualifying would be awesome.

Anyway, wish me luck and I hope too see you out there on the track with me :)

Edit: Shitty phone video of dash

I had a great weekend drifting.

Car went well, I drove pretty well too. Best drift ever on my 2nd Qualifying run. Actually Qualified but then I lost my first battle, oh well, who wins their first one! Still had a blast.

Here is a

of the battle.

Here are some pics

I had a little trouble with the ECU forgetting all of it's outputs though which was a bit of a troll. Turned off the Rev limiter, Turned off VCT and Turned off boost control so it was just running gate pressure, Lucky I had my laptop there so I setup the Limiter and Boost again but I didn't want to touch the VCT because it was a little scary, so mid range power suffered.

Didn't have any problems with oil control at all, got maybe 10mls in the catch can. Oil pressure stayed steady all day, only dipped when I spun out and let the revs drop below 1500rpm.

Added a baffle to the catch can too which worked very well. Also got my new rocker covers on now too, paint on them looks shit though because I'm an asshole and didn't do a very good job prepping them.

So yeah, all in all, a good day was had.

Finally made the time to make the logging\dash software my bitch, I thought a few of you here would enjoy this

Logger2.png

That's a screeny from my first qualifying lap at sprints the other day. The Blue line is Oil pressure and the Magenta line is Speed according to the GPS. You'll notice the oil pressure drops when I brake; the dash also logs G forces too and it said my Max pulled 2gs under brakes and 1.6gs around a corner.

Fun times playing with this software, it's a little clunky but I've got it pretty worked out now. Next video I make I should be able to have the on screen speed and RPM stuff displayed

Good to see your oil issues are sorted. The software is pretty clunky, but it can do some very smart things with math channels (calculate fuel burn rates etc), just takes time to learn it.

Your car looked a bit of a handfull. Seemed to be very snappy, how did it feel?

car was feeling great, had heeeeeeaps of traction and really good hookup maybe a bit too much, but no power really made me sad, i've got it all back to normal now though i hope.

I just need to drive it more.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
