well to be fair, they did deliver a hilarious moment when cars made it down pit lane quciker than the safety car drove down the main straight.....meaning all the cars leaving the pits overtook the cars on the track....and they had to slow down to let the safety car ahead.

From a spectator standpoint its a very bad track, if you also considering money spent for how entertaining it is, it is the worst track ever conceived.

Yes I think there is definitely a bit of Bernie worship going on in V8SC.

I'm not even going to go into what is wrong with racing these days, I seriously just don't have the time.

it was replayed on speedHD (and non hd) with all the safety car periods shortened etc. I recorded both races on fox and watched race 2 last night. it was not bad I thought? good battle between bright and courteny. I was glad to see courteny win the championship last year but it would have been cool to see bright get past him (and stay there) for the win. he drove a great race and certainly deserved a victory for it. I bumped into bright outside my office last year where he was doing promo work ahead of the homebush race and he's a good bloke. No win for 5 years is a bit of a dry patch and having BJR winless it would have been a big deal to those guys. I'll bet they'll be checking the size of courtenys fuel tank and surge tank after he somehow managed to run about 4 laps more on the same amount of fuel than anybody else..... :ermm:

BTW what did lowndes do to ingall? all I saw was the two of them off track with ingalls car busted and lowndes with front damage (that was apparently repaired to get him back out but he then copped a penalty). I didn't see the replays as they must have been replaying it during the safety car which gets cut down a bit from the speed coverage.

The battle for 1st and 2nd was good...the rest was shit

Chromly and Skaife always go on about fuel and how a well placed car will run out just before the end...yet they never do....

Wasnt Longhurst vs Morris quality.

"There was a bit of push and shove," Holdsworth said

"I went up and asked for an apology because he took me out, but he wouldn't give me one. I told him what I thought of him and he pushed me and it got a bit ugly.

Which I guess means it looked like two girls going at it with handbags.

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
