Ah ok, then yes that would bump the price up.

Do you really need a gauge though? I've never understood the purpose of one since you only use it while tuning - ie you have a laptop there showing you the readout.

Given that the innovate kit is 199 with our without an mtx gauge or 209 with a fancier DB one and the AEM kits i can find has 195 for the sensor plus P&H or 192 for the sensor and a gauge delivered, might as well just get one and have data logging and real time output anytime I need it, easier to detect issues with tune quicker if you always have it on hand.

Personal preference I guess, I'd prefer a gauge if one is available for a small fee or the same money.

yeah it's funny the innovate stuff looks great, very nicely designed and rates very highly in reviews I've seen done. real world feedback though is less than glowing on their reliability. which is a shame as they are so cheap now. considering you can buy a kit for $200 I'd practically have one in every car. wasn't long ago a basic 4wire sensor, controller and display of some kind was $600-$1000 5 wire of course even more. now you can have one for $200 it makes sense to do some basic monitoring from time to time.

I dont know about that. If you have it you can tell if your o2 sensor(s) has died, or if your fuel pump is dying etc - all good to know. I really should get the lc-1 that's been sitting in its box for two years installed...

Also, i like the look of this; wifi connection to iphone for a nice looking readout http://www.ot-2.com/.

I believe that would not work with Skylines. It's an OBDII scanner; Skylines use Nissan CONSULT.

Waste of money in any case, they are useless at half the things they say they can do.

OBD-II is only one of its functions, it also takes a wideband input, and has gtech like timing functions (but you can get that with simple phone software, eg dynolicious etc).

But yeah, if its crap, its crap.

Hi guys,

This is something I've been thinking about for putting in my car for a while now, does anyone have any experience with the AEM wifi based wideband and egt sensor?

X-WiFi Wideband UEGO and EGT Wireless Gauge Controller

Apparently this works with all wifi enabled devices.

I have an Innovate LC1 in my R33 too. The 1st one died.. but they replaced the unit within 24hours and now its brilliant.

I also read a few diff forums of people having the same problem with new LC1's. Just dying randomly or not working at all. I wonder if they had a dodgy batch of units at some stage? It must hurt there reputation alot. Most of the guys i know use the Innovate LM2's with no issues.

dont quote me on this but i think they changed production location/method to something cheaper a few years ago and thats when they started having problems. all the reviews on the net were done a long time ago when innovate probably were the best.

Thats my understanding too, a few dyno manufacturers even supplied them as part of the dyno, but i now know of two who have dropped them and reverted back to the motec getup.

I've bought 3 LC1's... 2 have died (not the sensor), I havn't been game to wire up the 3rd.

Techedge..

(same people)

mines the old model 2J1 (replaced by the 2J2) appart from the wideband sensor plug getting a little hot and melting (track abuse + too close to exhaust not the units fault) i havent had a single issue with it.

Yep, the one I posted earlier, the price has just jumped a few bucks too due to exchange.

I also messaged him and tried to get it for cheaper, no dice.

Yeh, I imagine it will be going up and down a bit over the next few weeks. I'll keep my eye on it.

As for posting up how it goes, no problem.

I want everything for free or next to nothing and then I want it to be awesome, suffice to say I'm a bit of a whinger. If it has a problem, you'll hear about it :D

Excellent :D

Will you be installing yourself or getting it installed? I'm most likely going to install it myself, so wouldn't mind some feedback from that point of view either

    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
