I'm in no rush for it lol. It'd be silly for me to buy a car where my head touches the roof!

Actually, reading up on Toyota's official/claimed figures for acceleration is a little disappointing...7.6 for the manual and 8.2 for the auto in a 0-100 dash. Thought it'd at least be into the high 6's like a Sportivo Corolla...this is N/A Skyline territory :/

What did you expect from a N/A Subaru Impreza...

Combined fuel cycle is supposed to be 7.8L/100km, and a little more efficient for the auto, which is about average for a 2 litre these days. It'll be heaps better than a Skyline, but a Skyline is also a lot more car. The thing sure is good looking though - I can see them being popular for purchase in the second hand market and modified heavily with turbo bolt ons.

I doubt they will be turboed by your average joe. they'll need a decompression plate at its least with its 12.5-1 ratio..it would probably ping on Australias shitty fuel.

Im pretty sure they asked a certain tuner to ask his fabricator to make the official factory turbo option. and after researching it agreed it would simply cost too much..(with adding the decomp plate) 12.5 - 1 is not something you would be adding boost to. maybe 10/9-1 and i'de doubt they would want to be pulling apart a brand new engine for a car thats not even released yet..

if they bring out a lower compression ratio then yeh.. but now? especially with no support.. unlikely

Lot of people placed deposit on the agreement that if under $40k they will buy. I've been told that they no longer accepting deposits. What a dealer does on the side for a gamble is his choice I guess.

Yeah I read a dealer actually made a comment on FB Toyota today sayin rumours are false that they are sold out.

Put down his contact details if anyone wanted to buy a some lol

.

I've had the #4 on your list at the Rockpool, agree it was a great burger

Also the place where I have had my best steak I have eaten so far

went to rockpool the other day, while it was good... i've definately had better steaks

thanks mang.

fwiw i went to the newmarket (number 1 on that list) last thursday and it was fkn awesome! didn't have a burger but the place is DEFINATELY worth it. fkn awesome!

Someone needs to grab Neil perry by his girly ponytail and beat the shit outta him.

We'll get to it eventually. Gotta start knocking em off quick before the 2012 list is released and puts us further behind.

Fair enough, I guess at the end of the day it on some days it may be great and on some not so great, depending on the chefs working that night.

I've been to a few 1 & 2 chef hat restaurants trying out the waygu steaks and so far Rockpool & Grossi Florentino are at the top. Places such as Meat Wine & Co where some of my friends have raved about I only found average.

Different strokes for different folks I guess!

grossi was shit when i went... i was REALLY dissapointed.

best steak i have had was the 180gm score 10+ david blackmores full blood wagyu from bistro vue. was even better than steak i've had at the actual vue du monde.

the steak at rockpool was FAR above average, but i've had better is all

At ~1200kg I expected better straight line performance than an n/a Calibra, 20 years older :/

lol assuming things can't be done given the right amount of money. Factory options and aftermarket are two different things - mark my words, an 86 will be turbocharged within 6 months of them being released here.

One day I want to eat at Vue De Monde. But I get a mini heart attack every time I look at their set menu prices.

It's a minimum of $150 per head for a set Menu?

I think about it....Then I get a McDonald's McChicken Meal :D

Find those figures a bit hard to believe. Given it's power to weight, I'd say that was more similar to DC2R (B18C outputs same power I think, but the teggy weighs touch under 1200kg I think (and will do the dash in the 6s, I believe), where I think the 86 is like 1222kg? From quoted figures. As opposed to an na R34 (1400kg+)... Sometimes I wonder why I drive my underpowered boat around LOL.

On topic; craving to go an adventure to go get a burger now :/

I dont doubt that. And I have a pretty good idea of the person who will build one of the first kits, in vic anyway. But I'm saying it's definitely not going to be as simple as bolt on mods and a tune, unless you want to run 1psi

try $250 and then another $250 for a wine match

I'll be eating there for the 3rd time in a few weeks... cant wait (first time at the new venue)

in hindsight proposing to the mrs at the chef's table there was proably not the best idea, as she wants it to be an annual trip now lol

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
