Back from sydney tonight from a work trip.. big day.. left ipad on plane.. as i realized once i got home "Oh f**k!" the phone rings "Leigh did you leave an ipad on the plane" good service from Virgin :) happy about that.. apparently it happens all the time.

What did I miss over the last couple of days?

this

big red - sau vic member 400rwkw r32

exactly this. they also spend their lives behind an auto

Ahh I see, I guess I can slap on a Gtr plenum and make it all look nice and factory.

Clearly this car is to be a show pony. Otherwise should be worrying about your skills as a driver than the performance of the car?

Not really, I'm just doin what I want.

moh, own the car, and drive it for more than a few months before talking about engine swaps. knowing you, you'll sell off the car the moment you get the chance, like how i write off my cars.

lol its cost me 8k so far, not selling this

It was on tv in adelaide and who knows where else ?

the car was from vic it wasnt specific about where the fuel was stolen , i laugh at how you guys pass it off like nothing and attack a fellow sau member ( not a young noob either) yes i posted it in vic on purpose

Vic rego so you might know him ? Do i need to elaborate futher geez us

theft is theft and isnt a joke like he makes it ? even if petrol companies rip us off daily on prices

Once again lack of respect ? Glad i didnt go to nationals in vic if thats how you treat sau people , keyboard warrors

i would comment futher but i wont bother

jesus. that post reads like one of those people who add a little uplift in tone at the end of every sentence. these people advance my jimmies to an extremely rustled state.

You know you're in the wasteland right?

Post it in a real thread if you want people to join you in your outrage

Aaron have you looked into when you get your 'Merc', if it's you or your employer that will be liable for FBT? Some companies make the employee liable for the cost. But I'm assuming a mega-rich company like Mercedes will just pay it on behalf of its employees.

Employer is always liable for FBT

/tax

i dont get what you mean..

after a year of employment im pretty sure the car is work in as part of your package including fuel insurance rego servicing(which it doesnt need) and at 7000km on the car you notify fleet and they organise you a brand new one for just before 8000km. but it all depends on if your level 5 and higher.. 6/7 only get a lease

If I have to pay for the car as part of employee lease(which im hoping i dont have to) apparently the lease amount is claimed back through tax(well for me anyway because I travel in the car for work)

im not 100% sure though because its still 10 or so months away

On face value that arrangement does not seems tax deductible, but I'm sure its some sort of more complicated arrangement.

Not to worry you still get to drive around in a Merc.

Incorrect, alot of companies make employees sign agreements where the employee will be liable to pay the FBT liability. Either directly or via employee contributions.

Well I'm not 100% on it as I won't see the new employment contract until the year has passed. I'm just getting info from people that are on on. I'm just told that if I use the car for more than 50% work use then I can claim a portion or if not the full amount back. But the my boss is saying it will be factored in to you salary package as a company car so I won't have to pay anything. Even excess if I smash the thing is covered by benZ..

Yeah just wait and see what the contract says.

Be careful where you get your tax advice.

If your salary sacrificing you cannot double dip and claim a tax deduction. Also in regards to the MV this > 50% thing is fairy tales. If you are using 1% of your MV for business use then you claim 1% (log book method),

My charge out rate is $400/h. Give us a ride in a C63 and will call it even :P

    • I don't think the shuffle can damage the turbos. It only happens at low shaft speeds and loads. It's just annoying (to some people - others are tickled by the effect) and it quite possibly reduces spool performance a little bit.
    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
