Lots of engineering/electrical types here huh? Good, will be looking for new recruits/graduates this year.

I have worked here as automation/electrical design engineer for last 10 years. Expanding at a healthy rate 55 employees. I have a department to grow.

Possibly looking for any VAC work students, too? :P

I'm glad there's so many engineer(s/ing students) ... can help me with my homework

---------------

OT of careers, future career seems so far away to me right now (just feel like I'm going to be in Uni forever xD), even though in reality it (hopefully) isn't.

you're already working as an engineer...

and seem fairly comfortable..

I wouldn't say a r32 as a daily as comfortable living :P

2.5 years full time work, 40years to go O_o

You go to super cheap again today? Think I saw you on stud rd?

Was driving down to dandenong via stud Rd. Would have been at 1?

Where were you?

Also as if engineering can't lead to lots of money.

As mentioned, engineering students are taught to question and think analytically. It's why graduate programs at banks look for engineers.

Lot of ceo's, directors and managers are engineers for the reasons above.

The secret to this is that you are a business person first, engineer second. That is how you move up the ladder and not be held as a specialist in your technical field.

However, nothing wrong being a specialist either, as there is also large amounts of money to be had there too. (but you will always think in the back of your mind, ''if I was running this shit it would be less of a headache'')

Haha it all comes down to income vs lifestyle ratio and how you manage it.

And owning an aging skyline is a poor lifestyle choice. Haha

About to turn right onto Kelletts

Haha did you see me on the slip lane at the lights or after?

Bin that spoiler for extra street cred

I like it :) fark having holes in the boot as well

re: xr6t aaron, I think the FGs are a bit better built goes without saying that little bit newer as well should always feel bit tight and good.

Why I say auto? because it's not a 2 door coupe remember, the auto is around .5s faster on the 1/4 mile and a stock XR6T (FG) does a 13.1 or 13 flat ish and lets be honest thats what this car has going for it straight line not track. Why buy a manual if its a cruise car / not drift or track car? Once you get used to the ZF you'll love it.

That being said buying 2nd hand I wouldn't let auto/manual really phase you just focus on a nice clean example with some good options. (Must have leather, you'll know what I mean when you compare the 2..)

But it's all just advice.. you can do whatever the f**k you wanna' do!

oh and a diff as well.

damn becauseracecar

Because racecar obsession.

You could (people do) spend endless amounts of money. Where does it stop, that decision is a hard one.

Be intradasting too see blags 86 perform at Haunted Hills in a few weeks

I'm pretty damn excited for it.

To everyone saying go lower, it was about 1.5cm lower and it was scrapping on every single speed hump, very impractical. The driveway at work is massive too, so that doesnt help. Maybe 1cm lower night be the go.

It looks soooo good in person

    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
    • Mine is all -12, I’m running a dry sump in a billet block though
