Sooo, pretty disappointed atm, I thought I made a mistake and Pettett was right, my car WAS too low... WRONG.

Didn't touch the car since the defect, didn't raise it, didn't change exhaust, nothing. Took it in to get RWC 2 days later, passed first go.

Took it to Vicroads this morning, they height checked it + listened to exhaust, both passed. What the f**king shit is going on, Will be carrying a tape measure in the car from now on so I can measure his bullshit $3 dollar bunnings caster wheel next time.

Which model specifically and for what use? A girl I knew, who practically stalled everytime she moved off the line (dat cringe when 300rpm launch), managed to get her daily driver Wrangler to 250,000km before it developed engine rattles.

nah 90s cherokee (xj) just something to use instead of the new hilux putting way too many K's on it already and too paranoid to get it off road lol would be nice to throw something around on the dirt without worrying about scratching the paint

found a couple that i'll be checking out on the weekend. btw are diffs expensive? :ermm:

lulz if Petite was innocent all along and had just been issued with the wrong equipment and law book.

Make a complaint to that police internal affairs body, Borci. The more legitimate complaints about that guy, the better. I'd love to see the bullshit he comes up with to justify your defect.

In Jeeps, yes. Same for gearboxes. No parts held in Australia and no one will touch them for cheap.

Yep planning on writing up a draft on the weekend, but have no idea where to start on any of it :P Just know that I've got enough anger to do it.

On the topic of bonnet bulges, mines actually there for a reason to fit the supercharger in.. :D

+ 1 Write a letter of complaint

Will take 10mins of your time, and if enough people do it things might start changing

Sick. I copywrite, so if you need a proofread / to make it formal sounding, I can do this for you. Anything for my buddy Petite!

As for a start, literally just start writing about how pissed off you are and exactly what happened...including swear words...then once you've got it all down, start cleaning it up / swapping out words / ordering everything.

was probably expecting a bribe

yeh, or if you get a fine, just give them a fake name.. lol

soo what happens here, the rental company giving you another car?

who you rent from?

nah the defect only says i cant drive it after the 6th, so ill drive it until we go back.

sattelite rent a car

LOL Aaron... You're just a defect magnet. Was the rental car bright orange?

http://www.fijitimes....aspx?id=215162

I wouldn't risk giving them a bribe :P That would be worse than passing the defect notice onto the rental company.

lol it was funny, he goes, do you have your license, and i was about to take it out after saying yes, and he goes "ah ok good and walks off hahah

My bad, forgot it was Ford/Evo/Bike/selfloathing/hate or nothing.

i agree, i like the CV8Z!

if the car measured up, then i dont see the problem

Yes, but as matt said the place looked after him as they have a working relationship. Lets be honest all of our cars are probably not roadworthy if they want to be knts about it

yeah i get that. was just playing a little devils advocate. we want to get this letter written, not to discourage him

    • The alloy coolant reservoir has a sight glass, so as long as I can see coolant in the sight glass it's GTG, as for PS, it isn't anything catastrophic if it gets low, and as it hasn't lost a drop since I have owned the car I cannot see it being an issue, even after putting the "big block" 2.5 in....LOL The only time it gets slightly messy is at oil changes, as the oil filter sits above the frame, and I need to use a plastic bottle with its bottom cut off to catch the flow when loosening the filter
    • Good on you for taking on the job, but it is a big one. Even if you have bolt on manifold and turbo, you will need: Post throttle pressure source to boost controller to wastegate (and FPR, and ECU/MAP sensor) Pre throttle pressure source to top of BOV(s) Oil feed - you can take that from the standard port in the middle of the block Oil return to block under the turbo - this is much trickier than it seems to route a decent/wide pipe past the manifold. You really can't use rubber hose because it is way too hot there, and also the oil out of the turbo core is a bit frothy so it needs to have a decent diameter Water feed - you can take that from the standard port in the rear of the block. Water return - mine runs to a T into the heater box return, just make sure you don't create a high point making bleeding hard. All of those lines should use 200 series style teflon braided hose with heat shielding because everything needs to be routed past the manifold. Also a turbo beanie is a really good idea to minimise the chance of the car catching fire (under bonnet lining in particular) You also need to decide a cam cover breathing solution as well, will you vent externally via a catch can (probably illegal) or return to the intake (plumbing required and can oil up everything over time) Keep in mind the intake and exhaust piping in the engine bay will be custom so you either need to be able to fab ally and steel or have someone you can get a car that isn't running to. Get the wideband fitting welded into the dump pipe at the same time. Also, just my opinion, a screamer pipe attracts attention and doesn't add power, I'd plumb it back if you want to be allowed to keep the car on the road. BTW do you know anything about how healthy the motor is, and what power you are targeting? Doubling or tripling the factory power on an unknown motor is a little risky. Also fuel system will need some attention (pumps, high current hanger, direct power and earth feed, injectors etc)
