the had to have been living together for a year before they put the visa application in.... otherwise they in the shit.

(source: me and the wife)

what proof do you need?

and what if his partner is on a student visa?

bills and shit. stuff from both of you dated with the postal address you live at. stat decs from witnesses.

not sure about student visa dude. i did mine from working holiday visa...

i'd find it very bizarre if they let someone on a student visa (who has dropped out) to become engaged to someone else with a student visa and let them stay. and both people are from different countries of origin

Abbott needs to drop the Immigration hammer on this one.

might be an idea to drop a line to immigration.

+1 as I also got my partner imported on a defacto visa

If you are on a student visa and don't complete it/arent around you don't have the ability to stay. Being married here isn't enough unless you marry an Aus permament resident and can prove that it isn't suspicious

exactamundo...........

my wife is an aussie itizen. both my parents are aussie citizens. im bloody english and can speak bloody english and they are investigating the shit out of us!

Sounds like a winner, thanks Greg and Paul.

Restored my faith in the Immigration department. I'll try not to give my housemates a hard time and make sure I have their bond ready in case its short notice. its unfortunate for them, but will be glad if he goes.

let me know how it goes mate.

needs to be more people like you who report this shit.

then actual real cases like mine might not be scrutinised so much.

Strange, never had that issue on my end. Had girlfriend come on work and travel visa and live with me for 1yr. Went overseas to NZ for a week and came back for 3mth of tourist visa then applied.

Didnt even need to get married, defacto is enough.

Not sure why so much drama about gay marriage in australia. Seems to be good enough for the aus immigration department to just establish a relationship. We provided a ton of photos and proof and I dont think it was even doubted/disputed.

I imagine it depends a lot on where you're from and what Circumstances are. My gf is from Germany so I doubt they think its insincere. Wouldnt have thought coming from England would raise any red flags though.

On our visits to the consulate to file papers and so on I noticed a LOT of people were indian/se asian/african in origin. Wondered offhand if that affects things. Probably does, even if unintentionally.

guess ill have to drive one sometime to see what the fuss is. factory recaros sounds nice, probably still factory heavy though.

Guy i know through work has a modified one in Tassie.... always been tempted to buy it at Tassie price, drive for a bit then sell for profit here. who says JDM styling is a bad thing :P

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
