I'm not sure why you think Cam Gears is going to fix your car not wanting anymore timing, theres other issues at hand.

Also I told you don't get Z32's fagget jesussss.

I was wondering the same....

I don't see this ever happening lol.

"INFLUENTIAL Liberal senator Cory Bernardi wants all learner drivers to be taught how to handle a motorbike as well — even if they don’t intend to ride one."

They should learn how to ride motorbikes. Much more road awareness created by learning those skills along with an appreciation for how fragile human beings are on the road, on a bike or in a car. Forgotten very easily in the daily routine activity of driving.

That isn't such a bad idea.

Same goes for trucks. Too many people cutting off trucks not realising that trucks take longer to brake.

I reckon it's the cause of this mornings accident in eastern freeway.

needs to be said.

we need to improve our driving test.

and stop parents teaching kids/getting hours in.

make mandatory lessons with a registered instructor law.

too many times i have seen learners sat in the right hand lane for 5km and they are not turning. etc etc etc.

the state of driving in this country is terrible.

im not saying the basic driving skill, im saying the ability to drive to the rules and conditions of the road.

tldr?

your a shit kent driver mate.

I went to kmart tyre and auto thinking i'd be able to get some cheap tyres for my car, (245/35/19) dude says the range upwards from $300 im like uw0tm8? I'm like how much for Nitto invos in that size if you can get them in? his like 337+ fitting each. I'm like uw0tm8 look up ebay on my phone in front of him and see 2 for $388.. think I'll just buy something online and get them fitted somewhere.. unless people actually know of a place where I can spend like $200 on half decent tyres fitted?

My usual place closed down.. I suppose I could just go to traction tyres but thought even they are rips these days?

I don't think I've ever seen a retail store stock any item cheaper than Internet. Not sure why you were surprised to find tyres cheaper online...

$200 for decent 19's? My 17's cost over $200 from retail stores...

dont bother man, go to a tyrepower and buy maxxis maz1.

must be the z1. not v1.

again.

z1.

i paid about 150 a tyre for 18s... grippy as balls, best tyre you can get for 200 bucks and under, and better than a lot more expensive ones...

they wil be adorning my wrx when they run out.

just goggling them brings up this. if your gonna buy achilles whch are shite, get these.

http://www.productreview.com.au/p/maxxis-ma-z1-victra.html

On a semi-related note... you know you go to a tyre shop too often when they've got your car for several hours tracking down a puncture to repair and checking the rest of the rim in their tank to make sure there's no other leaks... Then you get them to swap the lock nuts on the rims to the standard nuts you supplied but they misread the work sheet and only did 4 nuts from each wheel... so the manager does it himself in the hot sun by hand.

Then he says "Oh don't even worry about it, no charge"

/win

lol gonna head to thewheeldeal on the way home and get something there those maxxis MA-Z1s are $205, can get some fresh Achilles for $115 review dont look so bad:

At least till I get some decent width rims on again

Maybe I'll schedule in the next appointment while I get them changed over

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
