I don't pretend to understand economics, but when the media throw numbers and words around regarding debt, billions, trillions etc... they make it sound like it's a 30 year old couple with a billion dollar mortgage..

But the sure fire way to fix it is to cut everyones wages, because that will surely solve the problem. The big builders will surely lower their prices and pass the savings on to the client..

lol.

Cut tradie wages, f**k paying the ambos more too. But it's all good for real estate agents etc to be earning enough to drive lambos..

Ok so you're just an (admittedly) ignorant socialist.

Personally I'd rather drive the Lambo than have the Lambo laptop, but that's just me :)

Such an uneducated statement. Let me guess your happy to pay ambos more, police more, firefighters more so long as your tax doesn't go up? Tax the rich am I right? Only problem is they don't have enough "rich" people to cover it all..

No disrespect to ambos etc I take my hat off to them but the amount of idiots all saying Yeh pay em more go labor haven't stopped to ask where is labor gonna get the money if liberal don't have it? ... borrow it and go into debt? Raise taxes from their core voter base of course not..

But if you can't see that labor is systemically incompetent then I don't know what to say

I think the Ambo's deserve to be at least paid in line with the other states. But more important than their wages is the hospital situation in general.

If you were in my position 18 months ago, lying on the bed only able to move half your body with a life threatening illness, and that ambulance you called simply wasn't coming... you would have a very different view. 20 f**king minutes. Then when I got to hospital over 4 hours before I could be seen by anything other than a nurse, and the only reason I got treatment then us because I had a seizure.

People are actually dying due to how this situation has been mis-handled... it's not even something that needs questioning, it should just be done. Period.

And if you want ideas as to where to get the money from, I would suggest that we probably need Ambo's and hospital beds more than the extra PSO's we got instead under Napthine.

Also, why do you assume that because I disagree with a few specific policies of the LNP that makes me a stereotypical extreme lefty? There are plenty of things I don't like about policies on both sides. I vote on current issues, not stereotypes and propaganda... Hell I have even voted liberal previously when they presented a better option.

Seems to me I'm not the one making the uneducated statements...

Yes but you like pulsars and not-Meisters, so I fear any advice I give will fall on deaf ears (or blind eyes, as it were)

The S15 is back up for sale due to a massive timewaster. The same guy who made an underhand deal last year to screw me out of buying my black R34 back.

If I knew it was you Brown Ross, I never would have dealt with you. But you knew that, that's why you sent in your mate to say he was going to buy my S15. I knocked back everyone who wanted to buy my parts and the car for three weeks, stripped off the parts you didn't want, only to have you say today you don't want it anymore. All while puppeteering your mate so I wouldn't know it was you. I'm tired of your shit. Stop screwing with me.

For everyone else, the car and parts are back up for sale:

Well I see ya fb posts and they always cater to left & greens 100% of the time

Can we not forget ambos are on circa 100k & 10 weeks leave with Andrews promising 6% increase and a 3k sign on I hardly feel they are horribly underpaid

Lol this is liberal propaganda 100%

Ambo's arent on 100k or even close. If they were I wouldn't give a shit about their wages.

Thats laughable. The average ambo takes ~ 70k gross. To get to 100k is someone that has been with the service for like a decade and had duties well above and beyond being a simple paramedic. With a burnout rate of approx 2-3 years there are very very few Ambo's that make more than average wage.

That $100k figure was a straight lie said in an interview by David Davis and has been debunked many times since.

Also if you think about it, my facebook posts have really only been about federal issues, and to that end they haven't really even been anti liberal as such... Anti Abbott, Morrison and Hockey yes, but all but the absolute most die hard of LNP fanbois now admit those 3 are complete clowns. (Although I understand the confusion here)

The only victorian issue I have commented on was the ambulance thing and to be honest I didn't really have a problem with the Napthine administration save for a few minor issues I would have with any political party.

You also don't see me defending the desal plant for example. That was a major major stuff up fron the prev government.

Lol hence my brown ross comment

I reckon they earn it. High stress job on shift work. Rotating 12hr day and night shifts. I know a couple of paramedics, some dropped out due to stress issues and rest dont have much of a life. You could probably go work on a mine site as a paramedic for better money and do very little in comparison...

But that applies to just about any profession on a mine site. So far ive almost been impressed with the knowledge and work ethic of maybe less than 5 individuals. The rest are so slow, lazy or incompetent (usually all 3) its no wonder this job is $3 billion over budget lol

poorly maintained

this....

the budget as it is, isnt enough to maintain what they have, let alone build billions of dollars wrth of ships...

however a few million of that billion, has come thru my company, and in part been passed to the local community, employees, local charity, my football club.

so some of it does trickle down mate, but not alot.

Damn straight they earn it. Majorly shit job.

I was actually enrolled to Paramedical Science when the bank job came up and I went that way instead. Very glad I didn't continue.

Yeah they earn it no denying it im happy for them to be paid more provided economic conditions allow it and the numbers just don't support it.

Don't forget they get 10 weeks leave compared to everyone else's 4 . Include days off they only work approx 148 days a year - long hard days no doubt but comeon and side note but vic ambos take an average of 16.4 unplanned days off per year - double SA counterparts

Also they get a $9000 tax benefit average joe does not get so another leg up there.

*stats are from 2013 newest I could find

    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
