Almost bought a chocolate borderline champagne diamond at a charity auction; they got tired of no one bidding on it so halved the reserve price...still no bids. Cheaper than anything I saw on the internet.

when we were shopping diamonds, this shop tried to push me into buying a diamond that had a bug in it...

like it was cool and all as the bug must have been prehistoric... but do you think my wife would honestly want that? FFS lol

What you want to know? And it's really budget then work back from there to get best you can for your money

My mate wants some direction on where to go/where to look. His budget (if i can remember) is around 15k. No more than 18ish. Just wants a general direction on where to look for rocks. I remember tony got it from the states or something?

Just a kick starter so he can start looking

For that budget he will get a good rock I used a guy in the city like a broker basically saved heaps comapred to what stores offered and got a significantly better diamond

I didn't go for biggest rock possible went for balance of size, cut, color, clarity ended up with a 1.2ct E could have got a 3ct g for a bit more but it looked like a rock from diva

I can pm his details of u want but he doesn't stuff around so only go see him if your genuine

Well with the shitty exchange rate these days savings wont be as much but should still be cheaper. From memory my diamond from the states was over half the price compared to Aus

$15k for diamond? Baller!

My opinion is cut is the most important. It determines the 'brilliance' and sparkle

Clarity and colour. Just go for the best that the eye can see. Why pay for double for imperfections that you can only see under a micrscope at 100x zoom

Then just go for the biggest diamond lol

Make sure to inspect and get a report on the diamond, can get independant along with the GIA report to make sure its not dodgey

Thanks Ric...should have you round for a drink nohomo...did you notice the Versace decanter?

IMO trick is to buy grog too expensive to drink on the daily (am aware I have baileys and midori in there; it's a rule of thumb jack ass). And replace what you do take when you take it.

I've started war on my dessert wines though; hard to resist the sweet allure after a filling meat meal like a big steak.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
