thought that as well but the reason why the 1/4 isn't as good is because they put a 6 speed in it as well so probable needed an extra shift = time

they spoke the truth about better tech in the single turbo tho considering all those twin options are so old now days

There is not enough of a significant performance difference to justify one over the other, especially when 97.53% of applications are street cars that don't need all that power.

In which case, twin for stock look to avoid police attention is where it's at.

When the problem to me is putting a drain on the economy (there are plenty of Aussies doing this too; get a job or join the army), turning them away does solve the problem. It may not solve your problem which is the compassion for the lives of people you don't know, or theirs being in the wrong place at the wrong time (life sucks), but it solves mine.

We spend just as much turning them away though. So it's not actually helping you at all

Those double page adds in the Herald Sun aren't cheap y'know :P

dunno the dyno said otherwise the single had almost extra 100kw up top end of the revs, I reckon they should of tested the 1/4 with same gearbox and ratios

also would love to see that with a built auto or something down the strip

but yeah completely not worth it, soon as you get pulled over cops with f**k you

I find that hard to believe. Turning a boat away is a one off cost. Welcoming it with open arms is a new person in line at centrelink for years, government housing and opportunities denied to people who went through legitimate channels. If you welcome boat people you not only end up with more boat people coming onto your doorstep, you end up deterring people from choosing the proper channels to arrive here when they find out they get queue jumped by cheaper means = even more boats.

If we weren't an island there wouldn't be boat people, just illegal immigrants trying to cross a border because they haven't done the right thing - no nation willingly takes on these.

It also affords greater security as a nation to be discriminant about who enters our country, which is a key issue for me.

All the PR that goes with it, the offshore detention centers, the money we pay to the PNG govt, the cost of the naval operations, the PR campaign, the cost of returning people etc etc etc etc

Yeah up top where you don't really need/use the power

E85 and twins is all you need for the street - no single setup will justify its worth over this

so significantly more come in via plane and did prior to the whole Boat people thing.

yet significantly more of the one that arrive via boats are found to be genuine cases of asylum seekers.

oh and the boats have not stopped...there is just a new policy of refusing the media any information on it so you don't know the boats have arrived...

All the PR that goes with it, the offshore detention centers, the money we pay to the PNG govt, the cost of the naval operations, the PR campaign, the cost of returning people etc etc etc etc

All these reduce significantly when they get the hint that Australia isn't the place to sail to

Do you not think if these people could just jump on a plane and fly on in, that they would most likely just do that, rather than risk their lives on a rickety boat?

Actually they have been shown to conduct themselves horribly to get rescued.

Aside from that why is it hamish they have no other way to get here? It's undisputed they spend thousands, tens of thousands to get here via this risky way so you tell me why don't they just get on a plane and come here like everyone else who is legitimately able to? Because they shouldn't be here that's why.

Why destroy documentation? We don't want disease and welfare drains on our society. There's a right and a wrong way to do things, boat people are wrong.

Imagine a guy who had a 2.8 stroker and a built auto in a lighter car with a GTX3582

.... 14.7 :(

that be ice these days not booze.

it's cheaper.

you know your government has done a great job when illegal drugs are significantly cheaper than legal things.

thats true for most drugs. but most drugs are garbage in Aus (weed can be grown here but as far as i know everything else is cut to shit quantity < quality). its hard not to be better value than alcohol over here, really.

Shame, shame, shame

lol guy at work got caught selling our bandwidth to overseas companies using some program; I assume for bots to do their web scouring with.

He's lucky the GM was on holidays at the time because word is it would have been a sacking had he not already been reprimanded over it.

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 🙂
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
