this is you yeah!! ^^

OK so some-one educate me here.

Bought a new battery for Katies Mazda 3 today.

Went with a basic Champion HD.

as I was putting it in I noticed the little advertising tags on top, as you do.

they claim, their batteries increase your fuel economy by 2%.. now considering I did a basic lift both and the new one is heavier than the OEM one it cannot be due to less weight.

SO how the feck does a battery improve fuel economy by anything???

If you teach me how to use it :P

lol..

get this

watch some utube tutorials, find old car, (not yours) wash it, clay it and start buffing...after about 20 cars you should know what you are doing..

can I have a go now? .. :D

my assumption is that it's to do with drawing less power to charge it

I thought about that.

But as far as I'm aware alternators run at a set speed not variable as per current load? that said I could be be very wrong. and thus asking advise.

I just think it a bad marketing plot and suckering ppl in.

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
