I gave $25 to an older bloke in high-vis gear and a notepad with the promise of a photo DVD being posted out

Maybe I should change that to "I donated $25"? :/

Yeah he asked about taking photos, where he could go etc - was a surprise because he had no prior permission from us. Anyway, seems nice enough, I gave him the way to this thread to post some pics

Yeah, he takes photos of everyone and then sends you a cd with all the photos he took for the day.

Nice guy. If you are worried, just ring Wakefield for his details as they know him as he is sort of their official/unofficial photographer.

Thanks to all involved in putting on the day went smoothly as usual!

Was great to get back out there. And a big thank you to the guys who kept reassuring me throughout the day that its ok to have some oil in my engine bay lol Catch can def. on the way to sort that out.

And as always sau events a great way to meet fellow enthusiasts :)

As Steve-o mentioned heaps and heaps of track time, I regret only taking two jerry cans with me could of squeezed in one/two more sessions with the extra fuel.

If anyone has picks of my car feel free to post them up and i'll be contacting wakefield to get hold of the photographer's details to order myself a cd too.

Thanks to everyone who made this day possible!!

Was my first time at wakefield park but not first time on a track. The only FWD there the might pulsar handled the day well an didn't miss a beat out there for me an had no problems.

Need semi slicks an coilovers for next time. had such a blast so much fun an loved my last couple sessions, as I was progressing with my lines so much better. Got bit of lift of oversteer but was fun :P

The only downside to the day was the lack of the expected R35. Still the Lotus's and quality of some of the other cars like the v36? skyline on the track made up for it.

I had a great battle with the track prepped Lotus, just had him on the straights, as he just had me on the corners. Very brave of him to force me into the inside line in corner 2. There's only so quick a 1600kg GTR pulls up on very worn RS-R's. If anything the day was a testimate to just how good those tyres have lasted and performed over the last 6 track days.

It was also a first for so many "newbies" to the track. I had the pleasure of assisting the v36 owner familarise the track and I think the lack of serious incidents was probably due to all the experianced drivers who assisted in the morning. I think most of the drivers had a great time and I would love to see them back again.

I saw no Skylines broken and only 3? Mazda's have issues all day. Anyone have some more details on the Mazda's that had troubles?

A big thanks to all of the organisers for another well run SAU event.

Stevo and Dave - you would of had to have a bath in sun tan lotion to stop from getting burnt there on the pit wall - I remember spending a day on the pit wall at a previous SAU day at Wakefield and getting burnt big time.

Our car ran well all day for it's first track day so we were very pleased even if I did have the honour of the first minor off for the day in the very first session with semi's that had not gripped up. Our only concern was the low water temp after fitting a Nismo thermostat as it would not go above 80 degrees so a standard thermostat may be the order of the day.

Bring on the pictures.

What a great day.

A big thank you to Skylines Australia and it's members for organising a very fun track day. Also a huge thanks to the guys who volunteered their time from those manning the loadspeaker to the guys doing scrutineering.. you all made everything go smooth and we all got plenty of track time. Thanks for letting me join in the fun.

Also a big thumbs up to all the drivers. Everyone I saw was courteous on the track which made the day so much more enjoyable.

I would love to join future track days with you guys.

Oh... and thanks Kristy for my new Avatar pic. :)

Thanks to all the organisers, Saturday was such an awesome event!

Great weather, awesome amount of track time and faultless administration!

It was my first time at Wakefield and I am so glad I took the opportunity to thrash the car a bit. Most pleased that the car made it home under its own power as well :-)

I also had great success with my el-cheapo lap timer- i will post up details in the Lap Timer thread asap.

Cheers

hahha good work on the pbs Ben and Lordvanwhateverthefcuk.

Those Federal FZ-201s are the bomb (we had them on Neil's car too), and Mick even provided at track support ("yeah, that rubbing looks ok, miles away from the canvas yet"....which sounded to me like "get back out there and keep giving it hell you pussies!")

Good day, and a good turn out despite the late date in the year. The only down side is that it was a bad day to be a rotor....did I really see a new record set by an engine failing while driving off the trailer? (all of a sudden I feel better about some of my blow ups lol)

What a great day of racing, thanks to everyone who made it run so smoothly.

I'm thinking that we are going to have to stock up on the FZ-201's now that everyone knows how good they are :)

No worries Duncan - You're right, if you can't see canvas or steel belts they're still good... So get out there and keep pushing!!

It was great to see the Stagea out there as well!... The tyres held up alright too (no more warranty on that set though):D

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
