I was neck and neck with an R35 GTR down the main straight of EC when I only had 320rwkw and im sure his wasnt standard.

So do we think that a properly set up 370rwkw+ 32 gtr would smoke an R35 from a rolling start at 60kph?

So too a standing start if the bloke in the 32 could drive?

I've often thought about this and I've come up with YES

and YES depending if the 35 uses launch control, which I don't think would happen much on the street

the R35 from the factory has proper launch control (full boost before you even start moving) not to mention the larger displacement and much newer tech but it does have a lot of KG on the 32.

without actually doing the test you cant say for sure though.

well what does a 35 run down the quater stock standard? somethin like mid 11's...alot of this good quater mile time can be put down to the launch control

have seen a few 35 run at WSID and they have been high 11's without using the launch by the sound and look of it...

an R32 with 370rwkw+ is potentially a 10 second car

yes i know there are other factors but im talking about a perfect world here

Theres a few clips on Youtube.

Well this in a roll on from 2nd. 600hp R35 v 700hp R34 GTR

So this has gone from a 10 sec RWD R33 GTS-t, to people that don't understand ATTESA.

Now it's onto R35s that have DSG.

Surely this is ready for the Wasteland now?

It is.

Quality thread so far...

Yea well this thread got high jacked ages ago so im gettin in on it

just finnished watchin some other clips on youtube as well, havent seen this one yet

Well the DSG (cough...auto) does give quite a big advantage on the strip, also the R35 GTR has more gears so can make better use of its torque curve. It's almost like a continuously variable transmission.

To sum up, a 10 Rb25 is not all about having the power. Its the potential to get it down on the ground, from the get go. You need the launch, you need the traction, you need the quick smooth gear changes etc. You really cannot compare an R35 to any other manual skyline. Unless you're chuck norris, you can't out shift a DSG. Hell even chuck norris cant do it.

Power to weight will always win in my book

In a quarter mile track awd means nothing.

Most efi comes with launch control

Mine is set to 6.5

Mine was jumping to the left

Lowered the pressure on the right tire and helped alot.

So suspension and tires are destructive counter measures against awd cars.

I sure fear no awd car out there.

They are top prey in my food chain. ;)

So u drive around the street with less tyre pressure in your rear right tyre?

Or do u just jump out and lower it when ur at the lights after pulling up next to a GTR

This thread has come a long way from the first page, maybe he didn't read the OP where it was talking about street tires and full weight.

None the less it is a true statement. Ive seen some videos of VL's and rotors make some pretty quick passes with street tyres. The VL is a fat sloppy car while the rotors are generally fitted into a chassis which weights easily under a ton.

Fat as in they can in no way be compared to skylines in terms of their suspension work. My cousin has a VL which ran 12's or 11's and it had almost no suspension work. Fat as in when you smack the brake it rocks like a boat and handles like a boat. Skylines might be big and heavy but they really do not handle like boats. They are 1250Kg, 100kg lighter than my GTST.

I think that's why they are good for drags straight out of the box though, the soft wallowing suspension aids in the rear squatting and the front lifting, whereas the Skylines with there sporty suspension is a bit to firm for hooking up.

Although the VL does handle a bit more like the Queen Mary when going around corners.

I think, LOL.

    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools. • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
