Recommended Posts

I'm out fellas. Enjoy. I emails Neil today. Unfortunately my new sump isn't quite doing the trick. Hope it's good weather out there for you guys.

I'm staying posted to make sure I get an entry into 21/7. NEED more testing time before WTAC.

woo PB...boo rain....day summarized for quite a few ppl.

Also don't forget a spin or two for some of us

Managed 3 session - one completely dry, one drizzly (PB 1:55.3223) and one completely wet. Really did not think PI is so slippery in wet.

I really struggled in wet, but it was also good practise to see how the car behaves.

PS: Funny story - walked up to an Alfa owner to tell him he's car is dripping some oil ............ he just look at me and laughed - guess its a standard feature.

Shame few of them broke down early in the day too, but AROCA run day was pretty slick ptherwise. Really liked the fast change between the groups, and reasonably long sessions.

Yeah was a very good day, we might look at doing some more of theirs next year.

I got same practice completely stuck in traffic so much no heat got in tires and thus could not get the pressure right for sprint.

first sprint, got clean track and a PB..tires got temp swung into pits to set pressure.

rain..

soaking wet, but good to finally drive at the island.

were there any photographers out there braving the elements?

Thanks Ash,

Yeah we were out there, got quite a few of you guys getting sideways at one stage...will post up details ASAP.

It was just one of those days, blue skies in the morning. The promise of good things, dry run. Almost dry run, then rain and hail.

The air temp and track ambient were unbelievably low. I'm not sure of the apparent temperature, but is was fugging cold!

The track temp wasn't much better, even with the streeter tyres they where hardly warm after a session out on the track.

Had a blast, with good things to come as 49's come easy in traffic now.

AD08's are 13 track days old now as well ;)

LOL nice braking move by mr porsche at the end of the straight... wtf? was he afraid to take it a bit faster? Nice video and top driving as always John... gotta say, 1:49's on AD08's is awesome! what camera setup do you use now?

Photos up gents! (Click Here)

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting up pics. The Mrs failed to take pics.

Thought I'd take it easy for first few laps. My car is there showing the swarm of mx5's that are unforgiving carnivores. Two side by side passing me on the inside of the hairpin!!

Had a blast.

Did you fix the ignitor grounding issue?

Did you fix the ignitor grounding issue?

Fixed the wiring but it seems to be coil packs or something electrical. RacePace have the car currently.... Now to find a GTR intake and FMIC and plumbing while it's there.....

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
