Nice car.......... I was looking at it on Carpoint last night.

I'd be surprised if it didn't sell easily.

Good luck.

Bob.

Hi everyone,

I need to replace the OEM sound matting/insulation in the boot of my R32 V-Spec. It's actually the first car in this thread :D It is having some work done in the boot and the original needs to be removed and replaced.

Does anyone know where to get anything like the original textured sound matting/insulation that is bonded to the boot floor behind the spare? Please see the comedically large yellow arrow in the image below. I want to try for an exact match. The car is completely stock.

Any help would be great!

Cheers!

Mike

Great thread. Just a couple of suggestions from my own research;

1. Most N1's made where not Vspec or Vspec 2's. They were produced from 1991 to 1994 (total made around 228) and all in Crystal White, thin layer, colour code 326.

2. The numbers produced of the N1 Vspec 1 and 2 (built 1993 and 1994 respectively) are hard to come by, but one source suggests only 50 in each year possibly made, leaving about 128 made between 1991 and 1992.

In any case they are a very rare specification R32 GTR that is very difficult to source even in Japan.

We'll be able to access the proper figures soon.

Mark Dodd has been hard at work on R34 GT-R N1 intricate details for the past couple of months and this data is coming to light now.

R33 GT-R N1s and R32 GT-R N1s will follow suit.

Many Thanks to Mark aka sin~ here on SAU

Yes almost 4 years ago when I made those comments, it was based on my own research, but had no hard data to go by.

I think all will be confirmed soon with the great work done as above - I've  used the GTR registry for many other GTR models and it is a great revelation.

Tony

So based on the registry at the moment;

118 N1's produced between 09/1991-12/1992

64 N1 VSpec produced in 1993

63 N1 VSpec 2's produced in 1994

Total 245 N1's produced (not 228 as previously thought).

How many are still in existence is anyone's guess.

Enough thanks cannot be conveyed to Mark Dodd for all his sleuthing and hard work!

Your breakdown is absolutely correct! ;)

PS The R33 GT-R N1 Register, R34 GT-R N1 Register and once again, the R32 GT-R N1 Register are up in the "Rare Skyline Register" Thread, (stickied)

It's V-Spec #1285/1396 not a V-Spec II ... 13th digit of model code KBNR32RBFS__MA M = No rear wiper as per your photo :) V-Spec II model code would have been KBNR32RBFS8_MA

KBNR32RBFS__MA; Interior: G; (11_) [17" Tyre (V-Spec)]; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13M) No Rear Wiper; (14A) Standard

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
