This is totally insane! Your attention to detail is staggering. So awesome.

Could you please PM any other pics you might have of that crossmember ? (Please) :-)

Also could you please take x1000 photos showing absolutely everything once its complete so we can all have some alone time with some good material :-)

No real progress was made over xmas unfortunately way too much beer consumed :/

What i did decide on recently was to upgrade from the M800 to the new M150.

Unfortunately we needed to change CDI modules as the M150 wouldn't talk to the Motec CDI8... Yes i know :angry2:

New bits arrived today.

And the good news is the car was delivered back to my good mate / fabricators last night to continue on with last few bits of work left.

Updates over the next few weeks..

Great looking car and fantastic build - looks like you've thought of everything. Plans for anything other than the 1/4 mile?

I hope so although i always seem to find something new and improved id like to add haha thanks mate.

I really wanted to build this as a street going car but rules and regs and police just make it so hard now.

Apart from the 1/4mile stuff it's just a car to go out and have some fun in, events like roll racing and powercruise both of which don't require registration.. Powercruise u can take passenger so that should be fun haha.

What would've been cool are the Motive GTR drag battle and new 1/2mile but both require registered cars for insurance purposes unfortunately...

Struggling at the moment to find room for a large enough air filter. The car was built with the intensions of not running one but i chickened out and purchased a 7" round 16" long K&N but looks like it won't fit where i was hoping without some more mods moving stuff around and re-coating the intercooler :/

Yep been progressing slowly but surely.

Under dash harness re-pinned for the M150 and re-installed into the car. Lucky we did bulk head connectors on the firewall made removing the harness easy and saved engine harness removal.

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
