You'd be crazy to not have them replace the seals when the gears are off.

Removing the cover is easy, then you have to reset the timing cos you have to take the cas off.

Oh man. Can't believe I didn't actually rad the thread correctly.

A clear cam cover is something very special indeed. Especially one that could stay clean!

These questions aren't "forced induction" questions..

Use the correct section ie general maintenance

Great thanks for your input.. not

And its obviously a waste of money.

You drive a stagea lol

I'm loving the idea of clear cam covers. That wording, plus the question of whether it will stay clean on the inside was worth a laugh.

Timing cover, now that's whole 'nother biscuit.

Wow another one with a constructive comment thanks you obviously know everything high five..

Thanks for that I'll make sure they replace the seals..

Yes it should stay clean if inside your timing cover is clean and your cam seals don't leak. It would only be 3/4 bolts to take it off.

Thanks again I appreciate the civil and constructive reply

Ow I'm sorry you can dish it but can't take it .. no prob.. I'm sorry and yes a simple constructive answer to the question is preferred. . If you want to play games and consider yourself funny join a comedy club or a funny forum .. ??

Man.

You come on here asking people to help then act like this?

Just throw money at your chosen shop and get some shit result. But a clear cover for wank factor.

Good luck with it. Then you sell the car for a huge loss.

How would the inside of a cover get dirty? Well one way would be a leaking camshaft seal, which only a lunatic wouldn't replace when they have the gears off a unknown km engine. Or the crank seal. Or the water pump.

Not offended, just surprised by your complete lack of common sense,

mechanical knowledge and inability to use the search function.

Probably your parents fault more then anything.

    • So I'm going to have to keep ignoring the 4.7 update, or whatever version it is? Poop. I was hoping you'd put me out of my misery.
    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
