Same here, car tucked in the shed, get to it next year.

Just makes me sad seeing all my new engine bits sitting there :(

Don't worry man, good things take time. Took me 1.5  years to build my motor and now there's a leak with the sump, probably be another 1.5 years till I fix that.

Decided to start getting things ready and removed the e85 out of it7061CE44-D40E-4BE8-BCCE-82F520FB3D91.thumb.jpeg.e5d3553913d0345cbef43097f3ce07db.jpeg

ive sold the e85 cause by the time I’m done it will probably be stale anyway

i threw 20L of 98 in it and started it up 6B0BFA23-FB46-4ED2-9E71-469E8C7004F1.thumb.jpeg.78cc3b2c3f94dba4a67dd58450735367.jpegit’s now showing 5% ethonal so hopefully once I throw another 20L or so in there it should come close to zero

ps. 98 exhaust fumes f**king stink

i sold the splitfire coils to a mate who had a set fail on him, currently has a set of old oem ones in there that don’t work but of corse will be getting upgraded.

I have started ordering part for the new build and while waiting for the new workshop to be built and hopefully will have a hoist in it

Care to share the input file?

We couldn’t push the power any further last time it was tuned because even slightly more boost caused surge issues, I just think it’s couldnt get enough air out anymoreAC949C54-3041-41C6-9C43-61DA8F800D65.thumb.jpeg.594d858466b02fa4745891ccdbe07d0e.jpegWhich means out comes the exhaust cam

with the vcam taking all the over lap out the idle is still smooth but has a much deeper note and is a bit louder

And off come the turbos, you can see here the rear one has been spewing oil and explains why last time I changed the oil it was pretty low 1D1C9C3A-FFE9-443D-A383-A8D8F4072190.thumb.jpeg.d9c6683baa815792536522cdf365927b.jpegfront one out againE4899F5F-30BF-4855-A47D-D31C58EDF3FA.thumb.jpeg.dd9e52e262f76216f1fe05a5fa65426f.jpegand both gone530F6885-0959-421C-9FAE-A39E18C7C387.thumb.jpeg.34fc22075e3446d8f11008c086bc3107.jpegtook the cam cover back off just give myself more room for screwing around

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
